Behaviour of students, specially special needs ones

Parents expecting us to help their kids with schoology assignment. - talking to students and taking part in their games. 
- observing classes and giving feedback
- organising things and finding solutions. 


Thing that are overwhelming or frustrating and solutions maybe. 
- I am not able to observe classes regularly and giving proper feedback. (This could be because still the students are settling in)

- When I am in alley, I don't find stretch of time when I have to finish tasks on Schoology or Basecamp because I am constantly busy with students and helping them out. I can work in loud busy spaces but when I have to continuously take break from my task so then it is frustrating because then I am not able to do quality management or finish tasks that I have been assigned. 

- Infrastructure support like ACs, generator etc

- Coming to me for small things. Maybe protocols need to be created and enforced. 

- Again because I am not able to go over Schoology, I can't give feedback because I am busy in Alley. 

- Getting delays in requisition. 

Solution
Someone to monitor alley or just be there so I can also actually get to do my work.

1-Eyp teams support for each other.
2-The connection we build with children & their excitement when they achieve the tasks they set out to do in PBL.
3-Unwinding with fellow teachers. 

Things that are overwhelming 
1-Dealing/trying to help the children who are struggling. 
2- Planning time(taken over by duties)(ends up being unproductive).
3- Proper space for children to enjoy free play(outdoor space) (They are enclosed in the corridor which at times leads to chaos).

- Planning time is naam ka planning time not kaam ka. Maybe a complete free slot to plan.
- I really want to spend time with my struggling students for remedials laikin time he nahe milta. 4 back to back classes :( 
- A place to relax when free, the teacher's area needs to be better so that we can either sit there for a breather or our lesson planning.
- Struggle with some of the children in class. It gets difficult to take along the class and challenging students together.
- No breather during the day. Like pehle we used to sit together, nashta kartay thay. Din ka aghaz acha hota tou agay din bi acha guzar jata. 
- a space for eyp k bachay with some good activities. 
- Graphic tab kharab :( 
- Running after students for submitting work on schoology. :(

1)Bonding we share with each other 
2) Teaching my students and that feeling i get when they get something the smiles they have on their faces.

Dislikes
1) Planning time is not being productive bcz of the duties bcz we don't have any quiter place and overwhelmed with the duties.
2) Free plays and Co curricular activities need to be more shdeduled and organized because then this is unfair distribution of work for the ones who don't have any co teacher. 
3) Abrupt decesions are being taken by the authorities.( being Judgmental )
4) Facilities and resources are incomplete 
5) We are inconsistency modeling behaviour infront of children (Students Observe how we act)

- Finding math resources and helping around, basically I love research work. 
- The breathers - nashta time ( pichlay saal hota tha) 
- listening to stories of children
Solution : 
pehle hum chill bi kartay aur kaam bi kartay. Like we used to order stuff, eat while attending meetings. Ab woh sab bi khatam. Har cheez pe he pabandi :o 
So we should have relaxing time afterschool mai. Like twice in a month afterschool meetings should be fun.

Areas of Improvement
1. Improvement in Logistics (Resources, ACs, Internet, Generators, Cleanliness) - will help in students' education.

2. Space is limited causing crowdedness and noise. Increasing EYP space will be useful. 

3. Professional training is needed to identify and handle special needs children. 

4. Teachers' space needed for planning and relaxing

5. Workload - although the number of classes is less but a lot of work is required behind the scene (preparing clarity planners, lesson plans and presentations, identifying relevant material/videos,  managing schoology, duties)

-I enjoy connecting with every member of the community.
-I enjoy learning about how students learn.
-I enjoy the planning of lessons.
-The best part I enjoy is when students and teachers connect with and confide in me as their support system.
-I am glad to have an SEL room. Now I have a quiet space to plan my lessons with concentration and also prepare the class beforehand for lesson activities. Even the students enjoy the SEL room as their calm space.

Issues I face:

1. No proper resources available, still struggling for a few stationary items and room speakers. However, the projector was installed after a month and folding tables and stationery were provided after 3 weeks.
2. Students don’t have proper sittings (no floor cushions/bean bag).
3. Due to personal life issues and being mentally tired at times, such small issues add on to create more frustrations and irritability. Plus such management issues only drain energy and also waste my school's time for planning and learning. 
4. Learning is an integral part of my job, and issues on daily basis related to the management of resources (as they are either not available, or are still pending to be resolved) waste a lot of my time which should be utilised in learning. 

Solutions 
1. Make resources readily available and easily accessible. As proper resources can create a smooth execution of lessons and make us focus on more learning.

Suggestion to avoid turning orange into red in the communities (SEL perspective 🙈):

a. Communication gap should be eliminated between faculty and admin.
b. Once a month after school time should be completely dedicated to whole staff's get together for relaxation and catch up on each other. As such getting together will help to build strong relations and create a happy work culture. 
c. Respect. Respect. Respect.
Irrespective of who is guilty and how big the issue is, it should always be addressed with respect and a humble tone. 
Nobody's self-esteem should be affected. A community should be safe for everyone to communicate and express views and opinions.

Problems and solutions
1. Availability of resources:  The resources that are constantly needed like basic stationary should be readily available rather than filling a requisite and waiting for it. 
Similarly, for resources which are out of ordinary, there should be a maximum of 1 week wait time for it to be available for the students. 

2. Quiet space to work for teachers: The teachers area has mostly turned into a store rather than a space to work. This is something we will be fixing on our own but for the bigger things we will need help. 

3. Logistics were creating a lot of issue at the beginning of the term. Projectors not working etc. That Alhumdulillah is has a setting now. However, the alley ACs. Last year at least one was working in the alley now even the breaker for that has been removed. Because of this the alley is not functional. In summers the students are sweating and in winters they are freezing. The only answer we get is Transformer aa raha hai. At least make the the one work. 

4. Duties: They have been sorted.

5. Trainings for special needs children.

6. Planning time of teachers: For all the other teachers this has been sorted, Level CD Maths needs to sorted out as well. 

7. Technical material like Graphic tabs etc should be issued on time and we should have ample number at school. 

8. Resources for students which are not parhaye related. Like board games, jenga, blocks, etc. We should be allocated an amount every month or every other month so we can buy things which are needed in community other than basic resources. Stuff for drawing station, material for game station, even books and material related to outdoor play. 

9. Parents, not getting serious about submissions and leaving everything to teachers. Time and time again we had these meetings, we have also posted the expectations but it is not working.
