Faline is a gentle, humane, and kind-hearted deer. She feels with all living things, from insects to humans. She is calm and rational during states of anger. Faline is the type of animal who is aware of the needs of others and is open to all new experiences and ideas. For instance, she immediately supported animalism, although she disagreed with calling man the enemy, as she believes that to achieve equality, they cannot treat men with the same cruelty that they treat animals. As for all the restrictions put upon the animals in the commandments, she thinks that if it makes the animal happy, they shouldn’t be prohibited from doing it; sleeping in a bed or wearing clothes does not harm others; it only brings contentment. She takes things very literally and immediately thinks of all the potential harm that a certain saying or phrase could inflict upon others. Sometimes, however,  this drives her sensitivity to prevail all sense and think of new scorned resolutions; others view these newly formed ideas as ignorant. For example, when the humans came to fight the animals, she wanted to hold fire and fight by showing the humans the animals’ vantage points and grievances through writing; they would write about how they feel when humans take advantage of them and compromises that the farm owners could make so that both humans and animals can live together in harmony. This all helps further prove Faline’s being considerate.
