First, I watched and finished Gilmore Girls which was an amazing show. After, I watched Gossip Girl. Then, I watched and finished more than 16 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, which was by far my favorite show. It took me from October (2020) to March (2021) to finish. I didn’t think that it would last more than a year and I didn’t realize how it was effecting the world until later. When we started summer and had nothing to do and nowhere to go, it was very eye opening because I finally had come to terms with what “quarantine” meant. We couldn’t go anywhere and I realized I was stuck seeing the same people every single day. Then when school started up again my parents said that they weren’t going to send us back to school until until January and we would learn online. I really wanted to go back to school and go somewhere other than my house. The pandemic has made all of use realize to appreciate everything more. Before, I dreaded going to school but now I enjoy it because I get to see my friends every day. It also made us appreciate toilet paper. In the past, we usually traveled somewhere. Last year, we went to Lake Tahoe and the year before we went on a cruise. Since we all usually travel every year, we were all sad that we wouldn’t be able to do it, so we came up with an alternative. We decided to host it at our house. We set up tables for each family outside and decorated it very nicely. We put up lights and decorated the patio with fall leaves and paper turkeys. We covered all of the table with gold sequins tablecloths. My family and I cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, apple pie, pumpkin pie and so much more. When everyone came, it was nice to see them because I hadn’t seen them at all during the pandemic. It was bittersweet because we knew we couldn’t see any of our friends, but it was also a day to celebrate. First, my parents and my little sister filled our entire bathroom with balloons so when we woke up we couldn’t even walk in it! Then they surprised us with a huge sign on our front lawn and Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast. Then she got us beautiful balloons which were designed in the shape of a “13.” Later my grandparents came over and we cut the cake I made for my sister and opened our presents. My parents surprised us by inviting Hayley over which made my day. Outside, we talked a little and she gave us both a present. It was very nice seeing someone other than my family. A: Our birthday - although we couldn’t go anywhere, our parents made it very special and I had a lot of fun 🤩🥳🎂

Q: What is your least favorite part of the pandemic? 

A: Not being able to go out and do what we could normally do - eat at restaurants, hang out with friends, see our grandparents, etc. 

Q: Do you prefer learning online or going to school in person?

A: School in-person is better because I feel like I learn and understand lessons/concepts better and can talk to my friends 🏫 👩‍💻❌

Q: Are there any new lessons you have learned throughout this pandemic?

A: I learned to be grateful for what you have and to never take anything for granted. Not everything is going to go the way you hope and you have to learn to adapt and make the best out of an uncontrollable situation.

Q: Have you developed any new interests or hobbies so far?

A: I am now interested in law and prior to the pandemic, I was set on going into medicine. I took a speech and debate class during the summer while we were quarantined and now I am very interested in law and politics. I have always loved singing and playing the piano but during the pandemic I had a lot of free time and was able to grow and improve my musical skills 🎵🎤 🎹🎶

Q: What is the saddest thing that has happened during quarantine?

A: It was very sad not being able to see my grandparents for such a long time because they were quarantined and we didn't want to put them in danger or expose them to anything harmful. I also haven’t been able to see one of my best friends (Arissa) for almost a year and a half 💔🥺😭

Q: Have you learned to cook any new recipes during their pandemic?

A: Yes, I learned how to cook chimichurri steak, rice, beans, scallops, burgers, and tacos. I also baked a lot of cakes, brownies, cookies, muffins and other sweet treats 🧁🍰🍪

It is about how a group of kids are always in the shadow of another person. For example, if someone won first place they would win second, so they created a club for these people.
