The MOOC I participated in was called "Child Nutrition and Cooking" and it was available through Stanford University's School of Medicine. The emphasis of the course was on the importance of good nutrition during childhood and the lifelong benefits that stem from these crucial early years of life. Another emphasis of the course was practical instruction on how to provide high-quality nutrition for one's child with many videos teaching how to cook healthy recipes, how to shop for healthy food, and how to develop a positive food culture for your family.

I chose this MOOC because my daughter is 16 months old and my wife and I are expecting our second, a boy, in November. I wanted to learn more about how to provide and care for my young children in order to help them grow up happy and healthy. The course was also offered for free, so that was important for me too.

- Overall it was an engaging and informative class to take.
- I learned a lot and have already put some information into practice, specifically recipes.
- The pacing was fast and I had spent roughly five hours on the course when I completed it.
- There was no collaboration with fellow classmates. I would have appreciated discussion boards where we could share ideas.

MOOCs are a great way to promote ICT literacy for myself. My participation in this MOOC helped me learn to use this format to access reliable information from Stanford School of Medicine, organize my ideas gained from the learning process, and communicate these ideas through notes and assessments. I got the sense that this was a fairly basic course structure. However, now that I have this experience, I do look forward to continuing to improve my ICT literacy skills through more sophisticated course structures potentially involving direct communication with others and creation of materials based on information learned.

- MOOCs opened a whole new world of learning for me.
- My next MOOCs from Coursera I would like to take are: "The Science of Well-Being" from Yale University and some courses on HTML coding.
- Right now, MOOCs seem great for recreational learning for personal enjoyment but I do not think they would work well for granting certificates or degrees.
