I wish 2020 could be erased for many reasons. I have lost some friends and loved ones due to this killer covid. I know many people suffering and the most frustrating thing is that I feel that the gov. should have done a better job in so many ways of preventing/spreading. The deaths of so many should have been avoided. And still, we have cov-idiots walking around without masks. The George Floyd situation sparked racial unrest in cities everywhere; I was inspired and want to see more of that. 2020's election was one big catastrophe; that was disappointing. I was inspired If I could rub a magic lamp, I'd like to erase the year.

In my opinion, I think 2020 should be forgotten because there was a lot of things that happened in 2020 and all of them were bad and none of them were good and there was a new bad thing happening every month. Nothing good happened in 2020, the only good thing that happened in 2020 was we got a new president so 2021 should be a lot better. There were too many bad things that happened in 2020 and too many people lost which is exactly why 2020 should be forgotten.

I feel like in some ways 2020 should be forgotten but in other ways it shouldn't. Yes, many bad things happened in 2020, we got in lockdown for covid and many lost their jobs and a lot of kids weren't able to finish school. I wasn't able to finish my 7th grade year at school, and 7th grade was the best year for me. During quarantine I lost a lot, many people I cared about left me. Especially this one very special person to me left me. It was rough for months and I wish all of that didn't happen and it could just be erased but I did learn many lessons. I found myself and improved in many things and found self love. And I realized I should never depend on others for my happiness. So 2020 brought me pain but it taught me many lessons. So , I don't think 2020 should be forgotten.

Yea, 2020 should be removed from our memory because a lot of things happened. 2020 had caused Covid-19 which had caused many people to lose their life to sickness. Covid-19 has caused people to lose money and lose their job. Covid-19 had many businesses to shut down and lose it all. Another thing that happened in 2020 is that George Floyd had died to a cop and it caused a protest and riot. The riot has caused a lot of money to cities and what damaged was caused by what happened to the deaths.

In my opinion COVID was terrible thank god my family wasn’t effected but condolences to every one who lost somebody I had some ups some downs but overall I’m still happy still me and wee should not forget what happened. 2021 will not be better. Especially if you think everything just ends in 2021. all your problems don’t go away in 2021. it will still be bad but be positive and we can end it.

NO, 2020 should not be forgotten. if 2020 was to be forgotten, that's like saying forget the legends died : kobe Bryant, his daughter, pop smoke, king von, tommy lister. also 2020 should be not be forgotten because it a lesson everyone needed to learn. even though we been through thick and thin and this covid situation, we gotta look on the brighter side, at least you didn't die did you? Oh OK thats what I thought. 2020 shouldn't be forgotten, period . Its basically a life lesson. And there are some times where we built great memories, so why should it be forgotten ? You probably had the best Christmas or birthday, why forget that? Despite of all the bad things that happened, your still alive 🤷🏾‍♀️

2020 has been hard for all of us one way or another; losing someone you loved or looked up to. It does not matter what personally happened to you because, I know you suffered. It is not easy getting over what happened in 2020 with the pandemic, quarantine, global warming, animals going instinct, wildfires in California and Africa, the BLM movement, the economy problem, the number of deaths, and much more. So, to answer the question ‘should 2020 be forgotten?’, yes. Ben Watkins, Chadwick Boseman, Logan Williams, Andrew Jack, and Kobe Bryant are some of the many legends who died during 2020. For me that year will scar me for life. The number of dreadful things overthrow the ‘good’ things that happened. The rioting with the MLB movement is something else, sure they were doing it for a worthy cause, and I support it but, not the violence, because with the violence there are people getting hurt and I do not want that. In fact, many people have died while protesting due to police brutality, a little girl that was around 4 years old went blind from a police officer spraying pepper spray directly into her eyes. That is why I think 2020 should be forgotten. Although, we can learn from 2020. We can take that year as an example of what we do not want to happen again in the future and as a reminder that not everything can go as we plan or as a reminder that we survived this bad year and that we can keep going no matter what happens.

One good thing is when you are home you learn more about yourself, you learn life lessons. This year I learn stuff that I wish I knew before like friendships you realize who are your real friends and who can you trust and this are lessons you shouldn't forget. So no 2020 shouldn't be forgotten <3.

I don’t think that 2020should be forgotten because..

I feel like in some ways 2020 should be forgotten but in other ways it shouldn't. Yes, many bad things happened in 2020, we got put in lockdown for over 3 months straight and many lost their jobs, and a lot of kids couldn't finish school. During quarantine I lost a lot of friends, especially this one very special person my best friends. I found myself and improved in many things and I cut most of the world and it negative out And I realized I should never depend on anyone else for my happiness, that I'm the only person can bring me happiness. So, I do not think that 2020 should not be forgotten, there were many bad and great moments but 2020 was also a lesson for everyone.

2020 should not be forgotten because we could learn many lessons from last year. We learned that we all have to treat each other equally and listen to everyone. We could also learn that we must do the right thing if a virus hits the United States again. Due to so many people not listening to the directions and safety percussions, many people have died. If a virus comes back, we have to follow the safety rules and quarantine ourselves.

Did we forget world war 2. Or did we forget about Americas civil war? No cause as a species we learn and remember horrible things that happened, and we learn to not make the same mistakes we once made. For this year I suppose the lesson was not to eat bats, and not hurt different races, I feel like when people say “black lives matter” I think of course! It's not like we have laws where we can hurt black Asians or white people. I understand that some officers are racist and are horrible people but most and by most, I mean 99.99 percent of them are indeed good people. A lot of the things that an officer did was justified and made sense of course you are going to arrest someone with a warrant on them. I went off topic, but I will keep this here anyways. But why would we forget about bad things we must remember bad things to be able to create more good things.

1/5/21 Should 2020 be forgotten?

I think we should just put 2020 behind us and move on. I feel like a lot of people should just move on and have a start fresh in 2021. We don’t have to hold on to things that were in 2020, we need to start fresh and focus on now. We should put 2020 behind us and make this year great. Because if we keep focusing on the past, we will never be able to focus on the now.

Year 2020 should be forgotten because so many lives were lost. We lost a lot of love one’s people we thought who would be here no longer were they died. Experiencing that pain is a lot to endure. This Covid is horrible it killing to many people it is horrible why did this happen to us. What is even more messed up they killed a man George Floyd there was no reason he should have died even Breonna Taylor. This year is insane killing so many people for no reasons. Especially people going around, with no masks spreading it even though they know they have its people thinking, it is a “hoax” because the president said so like come on the news it gives an estimate, on how many people have it and died from it and you still want to believe this man. People taking jokes out of Covid going out to clubs, party going out were theirs crowds and a risk to get it, then when they get it, they regret it like this is real people, this isn't a joke take this seriously its life or death to be honest choose one. Mask up its not only for you but for other people. Also, to the hero's the doctors the people who are wearing masks, the nurses, and teachers thank you for everything you are making this world, a better place. To the people complaining I know it's hard, it is something new we must adapt to it for now we have to get through this, work together unless you have breathing issues like asthma or any respiratory problems don’t be saying I'm going to die because I'm wearing a mask just wear it. People protesting do your thing you know. This year has been insanely crazy I got my grandma and gramps from both sides of the family just hope Covid does not take them away from me, not so many people had a chance to say goodbye. What sadden me so much was the actor of Black Panther dying Chadwick Boseman no one knew but his family he kept to himself about his cancer he fought hard he truly is a hero; he will always be our Black Panther. Then Kobe died which was horrible and his daughter in a devastating crash. I learned an important lesson 2020 that to never ever take someone for granted because, in a blink you can lose them or, ever take my life for granted. I hope 2021 is going to be better cheers to a better year and, many others.

In my perspective, I believe and conceive that we should posit that 2020 is nonetheless still a year and that it has taught us how to endure hardships. A myriad of problems has recurred throughout the year. First, we had the coronavirus which is still is haunting every corner of the nation. This really has emphasized the reality of how our medical knowledge has fallen short in especially this situation. Then came the Black Lives Matter. Innocent lives have been taken away due to the police brutality. Global fires catalyzed by climate change have changed scenery in multiple cities as a Martian landscape. Political pressures have influenced our lives in a significant way this year with people claiming election fraud. However 2020 wasn’t all problems. We got the opportunity to spend more time with family and even reminded us to reach for the stars when we launched a spaceship back into space after a considerable amount of time.

Even through many struggles we made new records and also elected the first women/person of color as vice president.

I believe 2020 should not be a year forgotten. In fact, I believe it should be a year to recall and to remember. This is because through the endless tragedy and hardships, through everything people across the globe have been through, small, or big, we as citizens have stuck together. Whether it was to fight against Iran in an almost World War III, to make each other aware of climate change, to stand up against racial injustice, or to combat COVID-19, we have grown. Not only as individuals, finding new skills in the time of isolation, but as a community. Reaching out to each other by distancing. Creating new relationships. And standing up. So, yes, 2020 was a year of hardship, but through the tragedy we have come out stronger. Therefore, instead of seeing this year as a year of no toilet paper or hand sanitizer, we should see it as a way we transformed.

Events such as the holocaust, the Spanish Flu outbreak, and many more. 2020 and the COVID-19 outbreak is no exception. If we forget these things, we will make the same mistakes. Forgetting the WWII holocaust would lead to more of these massacres to be forgotten during wars, which we don’t want to happen. Additionally, many good things happened in 2020, amongst all the bad. Many revelations in science have been made, advancements in space travel, science in birthing humans, and nations banded together to fight the virus, and made a “cure” (COVID vaccine).

From the Black Lives Matter Movement to the Coronavirus, we showed that we can fight together and stand against the problem. If we forgot 2020 that would mean that we forgotten the heroes who fought against the coronavirus or those who fought for the Black Lives Matter movement or those who are fighting for Global Warming. Not only we must have the courage to look back and see the darkness that we all had to live through the year 2020 and the sadness that we overcame but we most also see what we have done wrong and what we can fix in the future. We also must appreciate that the change of 2020 has caused.

2020 shouldn’t be forgotten. The year has had so many negatives, making the year memorable with a negative connotation. The many losses to many people’s families and unemployment will probably stay in their head forever. But with so many losses, there also positives to this year. Though they may be small, there were still positives. The year has also come with drastic changes to us living. Wearing masks and self quarantining to name a few. Maybe even becoming jobless for some. 2020 has turned our lives upside down due to this thing we call Covid-19 or Corona and it should be memorable. For me, the year is memorable for being extremely annoying with the masks whenever I go outside. But the pandemic did allow me to stay inside 90-95% of the time, so that’s a plus. I am also very thankful that corona hasn’t taken the lives of any of my family yet. 2020 was a terrible year, but hey, at least we had the first two months of the year Corona-free.

Shreya Balkaran says,I feel like some people would like to forget 2020 because of all the drama, death, global pandemic, etc. I think honestly 2020 should just be put behind us and move on for a better future. 2020 might have been the worst year because of the virus, but if you look back in our history there are way more devastating things that happen in our past. If we can get through those horrible and hectic moments, I'm sure we can get over this pandemic, plus I know we all wished 2020 was a better year. Who knows what 2021 has in store for us? 2020 was a hard year because of its bush fires, riots, pandemic, political references, and many more. With all the bad that we’ve gone through it also helps us to learn and grow stronger. 2021 here we come, and NOTHING can stop us!! :)

I don't think 2020 should be forgotten I think we should use this as a learning point for the future incase we have future viruses and future riots and we can use what we learned from 2020 to help us better deal with everything, because I personally think they did not deal with this pandemic the right way they spent all of the time making it pilitical and not taking into consideration what the people want and I think they pushed this virus so much to make everyone forget what happened at the begining of the year.

2020 should not be forgotten. 2020 was a year of ups and downs... mostly downs. Ups: HARRY STYLES WEARING A DRESS!!!!! LIKE OMG I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. “Bring back manly men” SHUT UP. People are mad that he looks better in a dress then they do. Downs: The Corona Virus outbreak lead to catastrophe. Everyone got affected by COVID-19 one way or another. Many people lost their lives, many people lost loved ones, and it has been a disaster world wide. My heart goes out to those families. The economies have suffered tremendous loses. School has transferred online and it is terrible because it has affected the students social skills, and a lot of students are not learning as much as they would be in normal school. A lot of people lost their jobs which lead to disaster to those families all around the world. Many famous people sadly passed away in 2020, like Kobe Bryant, Chadwick Boseman, and Naya Rivera. All the LGBTQ+ problems in society are honestly disgusting. Then the BLM movement occurred. I support that black lives matter, but so do Hispanic lives, White lives, Muslim lives, and Asian lives, etc; all lives matter. People that say it was a peaceful protest are blind. But when you look on the news, every day it showed that buildings were getting burned down, and people were getting killed and hurt, and protesters were also robbing from stores which makes no sense at all. That is not a way to peacefully protest. Anyways, three more bad things that happen in 2020 is the Lebanon explosion, dozens are dead and thousands are hurt. All of the wildfires in the United States and the hurricane season. Also I know some of you guys reading this right now will be mad at me for saying this but it’s just my opinion and you have to respect it because I respect yours, Joe Biden being elected president and all the things that has happened so far during the election process was a horrible thing that happened in 2020. I honestly believe that 2021-2024 are going to be dreadful years because he is president.

2020 should be forgotten. There were violent protests, loved ones dying, and isolation. Being involuntarily isolated feels terrible when you can't see your friends and family. Or just even go out for a cup of coffee. We lost a whole year. And it should be forgotten.

I think 2020 should not be forgotten. Yes, there was a ton of bad this that happened that made us all wish that it was 2019 but there was progress. The BLM movement brought attention to the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so much more. Kamala Harris is our first female, mixed race (black and Asian), Jamaican, Indian, and descendant of immigrants to be a Vice President in the U.S. The Pandemic made us appreciate the life we have and it made more aware of the things others have to go through. A lot of things happened in 2020 and it made people hate that year. But we needed 2020 to happen so we can get to today. For a lot of people 2020 was bad and mines wasn't the best. But we are never going to have the "perfect" year. If you count the good things that happened this year, then you might see how important that year was.

To be honest, I don't think 2020 should be forgotten because of how iconic year it was. The memes, cancel culture, covid-19, BLM, the election, Kobe, etc. It's just a year we can't forget. For the world it wasn't the greatest year but, for me personally and for other people it was a pretty good year. I gained a lot and lost a lot. I gained more knowledge and I felt like I matured, I also lost things like the people I love due to Covid-19 and other things, for example, my uncle, my cousin, and could've lost my sister and grandpa but thank God I didn't. This year also brought a lot of attention to topics that should of been talked about a long time ago, for example, BLM. In general it was a good year. We can't forget this year.

No, 2020 absolutely should not be forgotten. The phrase is “you live, you learn” and if we forget everything that happened in 2020, we will have not learned and we will continue to suffer. When you learn what works and what doesn’t (i.e., in a global pandemic, wear a mask), it makes things easier for next time. There undoubtedly will be a next time because that’s the way the world works. Staying silent erases what people were put through and that’s an injustice to them and everything they went through. Additionally, so much good happened in 2020 as well. Joe Biden was elected President of the United States. Kamala Harris was elected Vice President of the United States, first woman of color to ever hold this position. More people got involved in Black Lives Matter. The first openly LGBTQ person to ever win delegates for a presidential primary, the first ever transgender state senator was elected, and the first openly LGBTQ cabinet nomination all happened in 2020.
