Misinformation and Disinformation: The New Era of Warfare

New Age. Digital Millenium.  This is the Era that we live in. Alongside technological advances and convenience in information access, the birth of new face of terrrorism -misinformation and disinformation.

So why exactly this is a problem?
First, information is everywhere, but the duty to search for the real ones is yours, surely because you deserve the truth.
Your credibility is also at stake. Especially in our line of profession where we are expected to be the spreader of truth and knowledge, we may not like to put ourselves in bad reputation.
As crucial as it is, the biggest downside of this matter is when we sow misinformation and disinformation from health related facts.
Imagine how simple group of words could put someones health at stake.

Accuracy - information that is accurate and free from errors is considered more reliable. One or two typos are ok but information that is presented in a sloppy manner with too many spelling or grammatical mistakes comes across as unprofessional. 

Objectivity - check to see if the information is presented with the least amount of prejudice or personal bias.

Timeliness - when was the information first published? In the Philippines alone, historical revisionism/ detoriarism are becoming rampant, reasons why we do not get to learn the lessons of past as we keep putting evil in higher seats. You wear pride and confidence with the awareness that you only disseminate real and facts.
