I had fully posted my opinions on this question on Friday, and I must not have saved it!

I am very much a person in the middle of children using technology! As an educator, I love it for strengthening and enhancing my lessons. Children relate to media, and children thrive when they can visually picture and see images and lessons on a screen. I have taught Handwriting without tears for a few years now. I always have used hands on visuals, but this past year I paid for the media App. I saw a light-bulb click in each of my students eyes. They were able to connect everything I had taught them, and see it come to life on the screen. With the assistance of the app, I could explain what the pencil was doing. I could teach while something else was showing them.  Another important reason for technology is that is where we are heading! Our world is very involved in social media and other tech devices. I communicate with my students families daily through my phone and tablet. It is important to teach our children the way the world is heading. Another reason children can benefit from technology is it helps them with their grammar. But, it is important to not become lazy and lean on that support.
Some cons are that children aren't socially engaging with peers and are not being active. My son is 8 years old. When my son is on his I-Pad and watching you-tube videos on his TV, I can see a change in his behaviors. He becomes short tempered, frustrated and tired. We have had to limit his times because of his ways after being on his tech devices too long.
