It is clear that American society has developed a wealth disparity. This disparity in wealth has created an unspoken social caste. There are three main groups mentioned constantly, being the poor, middle class, and wealthy. In each group, there are sub genres including, addicts, celebrities, homeless, and many more.

"It's an absurdity. An Alpha-decanted, Alpha-conditioned man would go mad if he had to do Epsilon Semi-Moron work- go mad, or start smashing things up.

In the dystopian society portrayed in the novel Brave New World, you are assigned a social class from creation. In this society you are either a Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, or Epsilon. Each group has specific jobs and tasks they are genetically engineered for. Although this is not the truth in the real world (specifically America), there is still an unspoken social caste. This social caste can be seen in many aspects of life. I believe the most apparent to be relating to the wealth status of citizens. This can be expanded into three generalized social groups, being the wealthy, middle class, and poor. In each social caste, there are groups that fit. For example, homeless individuals and famous individuals. However an even more unspoken social caste in American society is based off of education. This is one that relates much more to the novel because education relates to what jobs you are able to obtain. Much like being pre-assigned to a caste, which determines your entire destiny; education allows one to choose their own working destiny. Of course this is not a direct comparison, but the different classes of education (No education, some school, High-School, Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, P.H.D.), has a large effect on what work you are able to do.
