Sending learners classkicks for PM to complete independently at their own pace and on their own time. Gives us teachers a little bit of time back in our day.

Identify reason why learner is not demonstrating progress - attendance, motivation, engagement, goal structure/topic, etc.

Ways to increase motivation - stickers, tangible reward (charms, toys, etc.), letter, fun card, etc.

Call home to communicate with caretakers the progress that is being made. (Positive Reinforcement) Feel free to include student within phone call to celebrate success.

If they attend class, ask them to stay afterwards if we can. And communicate with other teachers to look out for them as well to help.

Build relationships with learners AND families first.

Think outside the norms! Use variants for asynch learners, calendar links, classkick, etc.

Make it appealing. Reduce stress by using what they are interested in to make slides, play games (pinkcat), etc.

Some other ways to get them more interested: Kahoot, Quizizz, and other games. Also changing up the mode of providing the probes.

Learner uncomfortable with progress monitoring setting - Provide probes with game format

Learner feeling overwhelmed with amount of information presented - Change of how probes are presented (use of flash cards, reduction of words being presented) and revise goals to align with what works best for learner and obtaining progress

Learner unable to participate synchronously - Embedding probes into Edio (such as in life skills course)
