Every now and then I get shaken up like the milkshake but I'm grateful for it because it keeps me on my toes and I always tell myself I never want to get too comfortable or be complacent!

I hired the "survey" to get my tasks and goals completed. I needed to know for myself and my company what worked best for us so I had my staff complete a survey as well as the parents of the children who attended the center.

Open Door Policy

I created an open door policy to address issues and concerns of my staff however my intention was never to become a doormat to anyone.

My job description is child care center director/manager but my staff often refer to me as The Counselor, The Doctor, The Lawyer, The Chief, The Fixer...and many other titles!

I have had quite a few milkshake moments in my line of work! In trying to figure out and cope with staff turnover when I first opened my child care center, I would have countless meetings to discuss the issues at hand and in most cases the meetings would end with me giving in to staff demands including offering incentives for promises of good future behavior!
