During his writings, the poems that had made him famous were The Raven, which was published in 1845, and Annabel Lee, a lyric poem published on October 9,1849. Certain tragic events that had sparked the love of this dismal kind of writing was  not only due to the event of when his mother had passed away, but because he was sent into adoption and was chosen by Mr. and Mrs. John Allan to be their child. After these trail events, Poe was devoted to a life of law enforcement and later a life of  devoting his time to writing pieces of literature. Virginia is brought to an end by bursting a blood-vessel  while playing the piano. The reasons behind his unknown demise still unknown to this day. There have been many theories about his death that have arisen from various events that had happened to him. Anything from too much alcohol consumption to rabies has been speculated as a possible means of death. Poe currently and permanently resides at the Westminster Church Yard in Baltimore. Now even after the death of Poe, people still celebrate his genius during his anniversary. That theme is a dark and mysterious element added to his stories also known as gothic literature. There are however, many aspects that a story needs to include in order to be considered gothic literature.
