         <description><![CDATA[<div>Casino investors and owner such as Donald Trump and Kerry Holton oppose the federal recognition of the Ramapough Nation that is in Jersey. With federal recognition, Indian tribes to not need to follow certain rules and regulations, and allowing gambling and casinos is one of the activities allowed on Indian reservations or land. Donald Trump used his political power to incentivize the BIA to decline federal recognition to the&nbsp; Ramapough Nation, to have less competition.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The town of Mahwah, New Jersey issued the first summons on the Ramapough Lenape Nation and on Chief Dwaine Perry. It was for not obtaining permits before building tall tepees, tents, and totem poles on private property on the Sweet Water Prayer site. The court denied this injunction as it was in violation of 1st Amendment rights and their freedom to do what they wish on their private property. </div>]]></description>

The 12 counts consisted of claims of violating 1st and 14th amendment rights by fining the Ramapough NAtion $480,000 for erecting structures like the tents and tepees on their own property. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This Memorandum has serval motions to dismiss complaints against Chief Dwayne Perry and for Injunction relief. As well had an exhibit to find Steven D. Smith, a Ramapogh leader not guilty. A number of other exhibits were in the memorandum to help clean up the legal issue from the past four years. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Ramapough Nation after getting fines from the town of Mahwah, files an application to construct a platform for religious purposes. They were denied of that construction, however still started construction anyways. As well, the club put out a restraining order on the people of the Ramapough nation in order to prevent them from getting access to their own property. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Judge Charles Powers Jr stated that the construction of the teepes and tents on the property was causing no immediate harm to any one. Therefore there was no need for a restraining order at that time. However, Mahwah can still enforce zoning laws on the Ramapough Nation. </div>]]></description>
