I. Repeat and Review

-Commenting on this advice, Shaykh Faraz tells us that by repetition, even donkeys learn so there is no reason why we humans cannot learn through repetition.

II. Ask !

-We shouldn’t be scared to ask questions from our teachers because if we don’t ask, it may lead to confusion and misunderstanding. Questions should, however, be asked with the proper etiquette and manners.

III. Take notes

-Have pen and paper to jot down the most important things described or items to be researched at a later time

Adab in seeking knowledge is as important as knowledge itself. A student with adab gains both wisdom and blessings (barakah) in their learning journey.

One day, while the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was sitting with his companions, a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair approached.

• The companions were surprised as he showed no signs of travel, yet none of them knew him.He sat very close to the Prophet (SAW) and placed his hands on his thighs, showing great respect.

• Then,ask Prophet Muhammad about islam,iman and ihsan.

• He then asked, "Tell me about the Hour (Day of Judgment)."The Prophet (SAW) responded, "The one being asked knows no more about it than the one asking."اَللّٰهُ أَعْلَم .This means that only Allah has knowledge of when the Last Day will occur.

• After the questioning, Jibril (AS) left.The Prophet (SAW) then asked his companions, "Do you know who that was?"They replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best."The Prophet (SAW) said, "That was Jibril. He came to teach you your religion."

By being kind, respectful, and helpful, a person not only earns Allah’s pleasure but also contributes to a better and more harmonious world.

1. ‘Amal (عمل)

Amal means any act or deed. In Islam, our actions are meaningful only when they are done sincerely for Allah and in accordance with His teachings. This includes both acts of worship (like solat) and good deeds (like helping others).

2.Ihsan (إحسان)

Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and even though you don’t, you know He sees you. It means doing every action with sincerity, excellence, and full awareness of Allah’s presence.

3.Niyyah (نية)

Niyyah is the intention in the heart behind every act. In Islam, actions are judged based on intentions.

All these acts of worship are not just rituals — they shape our character, deepen our relationship with Allah, and bring peace to society. They teach patience, discipline, empathy, and submission to the Creator.

1. Niyyah (Intention)

Done in the heart before starting prayer.

Must be clear which prayer is being performed (e.g., Subuh, Zuhur).

2. Takbiratul Ihram

Saying "Allahu Akbar" at the start of solat.

Must be said while standing and with focus.

3. Standing (Qiyam)

For those who are able, standing is obligatory in fardhu prayers.

Sunnah or voluntary prayers can be done sitting if preferred.

4. Reciting Surah Al-Fatihah

Must be recited in every rakaat of solat.

Cannot miss even one verse.

5. Ruku’ (Bowing)

Bending at the waist with hands on knees.

Must be done calmly, not rushed.

6. Remaining Calm in Ruku’ (Tumakninah)

Must pause calmly in the bowing position.

Even for a moment, showing stillness.

7. I’tidal (Standing after Ruku’)

Returning to a full standing position after bowing.

Saying: “Sami’Allahu liman hamidah...”

8. Remaining Calm in I’tidal (Tumakninah)

Must stand still before going into sujud.

Don't rush — pause briefly.

9. Sujud (Prostration)

Forehead, nose, palms, knees, and toes touch the ground.

Done twice in each rakaat.

10. Remaining Calm in Sujud (Tumakninah)

Pause briefly in each sujud with calmness and humility.

11. Sitting between the Two Sujud (Jalsah)

Sitting after the first sujud before going to the second.

Saying: “Rabbighfir li...”

12. Final Tashahhud (Tahiyyat Akhir)

Reciting the final sitting portion: “At-Tahiyyatu lillah...” etc.

This is not optional — must be said before ending the prayer.

13. Salam (Taslim)

Ending the solat by turning head to the right and saying:

“Assalamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah.”

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. It is the pilgrimage to Makkah that every Muslim must perform at least once in a lifetime, if they are physically and financially able.

📖 “And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House – for whoever is able to find thereto a way.”
— (Surah Ali-‘Imran 3:97)

It is performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and involves a series of rituals that go back to the time of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever performs Hajj for the sake of Allah... will return as sinless as a newborn.”
— (Hadith – Bukhari & Muslim)

• Being in the holy lands, following the footsteps of prophets, and performing acts of worship with millions of Muslims strengthens one's connection with Allah.

This Usrah journey helped me reconnect with our purposes, improve our ibadah, and reflect on our daily lives through an Islamic lens
