They create different art forms made of various kinds of homegrown flowers from the city. 

It celebrates new activities serve as opportunities to enrich the Panagbenga Spirit. It is a province-wide festival, with the center of activities in Sorsogon City.” The festival’s name means “prosperity and happiness."

One of the activities is Pantomina sa Tinampo which is  “a traditional Bikol dance, is known as a dance of love and courtship  actually the dance of the doves or  sinalampati.” 

Last year, October 31, 2019, Sorsogon was awarded by Guinness World Record for the greatest number of participants in a Filipino Folk Dance.

This is my favorite festival for it showcases numerous talents, prolific resources and beauty of our province.

The MassKara Festival of Bacolod City is one the biggest Festivals in the Philippines

This annual festival, which is similar to Brazil’s Rio Carnival, literally translates to “many faces,” and is celebrated every October in Bacolod. Because of the smiling faces of the mask, Bacolod City got the nickname of The City of Smiles. 

The MassKara Festival can trace its roots back in the 1980s and was born out of a crisis. It was during the time when the province's main livelihood, sugar, was priced at an all-time low because of alternatives introduced in the market.

Nino. It is also considered as one of the most famous festivals since people all around the world would go to Cebu to celebrate and witness it.

I like it because of the colorful costumes of the dancers and also the music. a dance ritual is done that shows how Filipinos accept Christianity. for me, this festivals shows how religious we are. even of i am not from Cebu, we always celebrate it in our School and we offer a dance to Sto Nino.

The term “Panagbenga” comes from a Kankanaey term meaning “season of blooming”.  The culture, beliefs and values of Baguio and the Cordilleras are expressed in this festival.  

One of the highlights of the festival is the parade. It is very significant to me since my family loves kakanin like biko, palitaw, sapin sapin etc. San Mateo, Rizal has been well known for its Kakanin Festival, a parade of rice delicacies together with traditional dances that displays the beauty and the bountiful year of the town. Parishioners, devotees, and different organizations takes part in the parade in grand floats where each of them presents different kinds of kakanin that the town is proud of. It is a weeklong celebration of thanksgiving. HA is for "hamba" meaning woodworks, MA is for "makina" or the sewing machine, while KA is for "kasuotan" or clothing. Ati-Atihan means "to imitate Ati", the local name of the Aeta people. I remember when we went to Boracay for a vacation we attended the Ati-Atihan festival to see the creativity having paint with soot in the bodies of the performers to show their gratefulness and camaraderie with Aeta who had dark skin. This festival commemorates Jesus' baptism by St. John the Baptist. The traditional "basaan" is a festival celebration to express thanksgiving of blessings received. Adults and children engage in street dance   competition, parades and other activities to give life to the celebration.

I chose this festival out of hundreds of other festivals because when I was a kid I love to play with water. Though I haven't attended this festival it gives me the feeling of happiness and that people are there to have fun and enjoy the feast.
