Rackete challenged the Italian interior minister of that time Matteo Salvini and carried the ship to Lampedusa’s harbor, running the risk to get in jail.

The police imprisoned her for helping illegal immigration and for docking on Italian ports without government authorization, but few days later she was released by an Italian judge.
