The B horizon is where all or most of the original parent material structures or bedding features have been destroyed.

E - The E horizon is eluviation. Where organic matter, clay or both have washed out of the layer, usually giving it a lighter colour and making it feel ashy or chalky to the touch.

Bw - Bw horizons have been changed by weathering, having weak or moderate blocky structures. The Bw may also have a brighter colour, and it may be more leached.  

Bk - The 'k' in the B horizon refers to an accumulation of carbonates Horizons that are paler than adjacent horizons. They are best viewed when the soil is dry.
