Risk about separation of children from their family of origin:

The causes are multifactor related to mistreatment child abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, neglect, inability to care for severe disability, mental health disorders, drug use psychoactive substances, the absence of caregivers since abandonment, forced migration, deprivation of liberty and human trafficking, poverty associated with other risk factors, such as child labor, homelessness, precarious housing and lack of drinking water, among others that make up a long list. Issues that has and impact in care:

The pandemic has increased the impact of risks factors about the loss of family care. Increasing the number of children who have lost the family care to reduce the and slower the response given by the States, impacting in the quality of care in the systems. The situation of youth is one of the most dramatic, considering that the challenges where already in place when talking about self-sufficiency.

The crisis in Venezuela has generated the second largest displacement of people after the one in Syria and is receiving far less international attention and resources. At the same time, there is a large and growing population of Haitians that have migrated to South America, and large numbers are moving from the Northern Triangle of Central America into Mexico and towards the United States, and from Nicaragua into Costa Rica”. From countries like Haiti, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador the situation of humanitarian crisis is more complex when considering the impact of earthquake and other natural disasters.
According to the ECLAC (2021), “despite the progress the region has made in recent decades, children, adolescents and young people still face significant patterns of exclusion based on dimensions such as socioeconomic status, gender, race, ethnicity, migration status or disability”. Also, Latin America and the Caribbean is most inequity region in the world (ECLAC 2016). Although there is a try in governments to promote chances in Social Welfare Systems, maintaining an institutional framework is a challenge and is highly dependent on the interests of governments in power.

There is a high risk in some countries in the region like Nicaragua, Venezuela, Bolivia, El Salvador, where governments have manifest a reluctancy to work with NGOs. SOS Children Villages has not been yet identified as one of them but there is still a risk.
DI transformation is a slow process in Latin America and the Caribbean, where there has being abrupt exit of children and adolescents from residential to increase the number of children that return to their family of origin that put in danger and violated the right of children to be protected. DI processes and care reforms biased towards the visions and interests of organizations.
Quality in alternative care is not being address properly and with sufficient investment in the region, for example: case management is not incorporated adequately into the protection systems.
Family strengthening is not necessarily part of the range of services in the protection systems in the countries with enough resources to prevent unnecessary separations.  
There is only one egress law in the entire region. Youth are force to leave after 18 years old to the protection system.
There has been a reduction in the investment and funding from donors in the region.

More and better jobs for young people is a major challenge in Latin America and the Caribbean, where their
entry into working life is marked by high rates of unemployment and informality.
COVID
19 crisis in the labor markets raised the unemployment rate among Latin American and Caribbean
youth above 20 percent, a proportion that triples the rate for adults and is more than double the general
average unemployment rate. in the region.
There are more than 10 million young people looking for a job without finding it.
On
the other hand, 6 out of 10 young people who, if they find a job, are forced to accept jobs in the informal
economy, which generally implies poor working conditions, without protection or rights, and with low wages
