Initial Care: Must be cleaned with soap and water or sterile solution, medicated (if needed), and dressed with an occlusive dressing, antibacterial ointment can be applied.

Post Care: Usually abrasions do not require sutures or professional attention.

Initial Care: Should be cleaned with cool water and mild soap, the wound should be wrapped with an occlusive dressing and an antibacterial ointment should be used before the dressing.

Post Care: Depending on the severity of the laceration (deep laceration) it may require some sort of manual closure using sutures. If sutures are required they should be put within 12 hrs of the injury.

Initial Care: Clean the wound with mild soap and water, and let it air dry or pat it gently with a clean towel. Certain ointments and lotions are not recommended because they can cause irritation and/or slow the healing process.

Post Care: Incisions typically require some sort of sutures, which should be put in within 12 hrs following the wound. The incision should still be kept dressed to avoid infections.

Initial Care: Pressure should be applied to injury to stop bleeding. Then the wound should be rinsed thoroughly with cool water, and if there is any dirt or debris around the wound then you should gently clean it. You should cover the wound with gauze until it can be professionally taken care of.

Post Care: If the puncture wound does not seem to be healing, signs of infection, or is heavily bleeding then you should seek professional medical attention. You should use an antibacterial ointment and continue changing the dressing.

Initial Care: Try to control any bleeding with direct pressure and then clean the wound with lukewarm water and mild soap. Then apply a dressing to avoid getting an infection.

Post Care: The wounded person should be taken to the hospital to receive medical attention including the reattachment of the torn tissue which if possible should be placed on a moist gauze and taken to the hospital with the athlete.

3. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and equipment.

4. Properly dispose of any contaminated materials.

5. Properly clean and dress any wound.

6. Look out for signs of infection.

7. Consult a professional health care provider.

Signs/Symptoms:

• Pus may form around wound

• Fever

• Pimple-like bumps around wound

Most wounds can be treated with antibiotics.
