In Latin America there's a lot of push and pull factors so I'll explain some of them.
Some pull factors may be living in flatlands and plains. Typically there's fertile soil in these areas so that can be used for farmland, which provides a source of food and job opportunities. And by the coast there's fisheries which also means more jobs and access to water. Latin America also has a ton of tropical crops and minerals, so there's a bunch of jobs to choose from.

Some push factors of Latin America are the Andes Mountains. Because of them being mountains the climate will be really cold. This also causes isolation, low food sources and poor soil, which means less jobs. The Andes aren't just push factors , because of Sao Paulo's great economy it's attracted poor immigrants looking for jobs creating favelas.

In Latin America humans use the environment in a lot of different ways.
One of the main ways are agriculture, because of the population growing that increases the need for food. This leads to the mass cutting of trees for farmland and plants and animals loosing there homes. This process is called deforestation. This all started in the early 1970's when a heard of settlers were looking for gold and land. They not only brought diseases and killed native people, but polluted rivers and burned down acres of forest. Unfortunately, this is still going on today even with the laws against deforestation illegal loggers are still cutting down trees. People aren't the only reason for deforestation there's also wildfires which can spread at alarming rates.
