Agard uses repetition in his poem to convey his confusion and anger and disapointment. For example he repeats the sentence " what u mean ". The sentence " what yu mean "  has a connotation  of confusion which creates the effect of a clear statement. The sentence shows that its is like a reminder that he ( the Author ) does not understand and is mad that people find him different just because of his culture
On the other hand the spelling " yu " is misspelt so that the reader can see his caribbean identity which helps the reader to indentify with his culture.

Agard uses repetition in his poem, Half Caste, to show anger. For example, he repeats the phrase,' explain yuself wha yu mean.' The word 'explain' has connotations of anger which creates the effects that Agard is angry, frustrated and disappointed.  It makes the reader feel worried about the poet, Agard, because the reader thinks that poet will be called Mix-Heritage or Half Caste later in his life. Furthermore, the word 'yu' is in his dialect and it has connotations of happiness and it makes the reader peaceful about the poem.
