         <description><![CDATA[<p>Very fertile plain.</p><p>Land between two rivers called tigris and euphrates.</p><p>been there for 5 millenia but inhabited for 12,000 years.</p><p>now covered by Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria.</p><p>Stable climate, rich soil, and steady supply of fresh water made it ideal for agriculture to thrive.</p><p>Agriculture spread to places that became the world's first cities.</p><p>First they were under the Akkadian Empire, then separated into the Assyrian Empire and the Babylonian Empire.</p><p>Innovation and development thrived in here even with wars going on, from paleces to mamoth temples.</p><p>Developed advanced math on a base 60 system, which was a 60-second minute, a 60-minute hour, and a 360-degree circle.</p><p>They also used it to study stars.</p><p>The most impactful innovation was literacy, from just drawings developed into a sophisticated writing system by the year 3200 BC. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The story of civilization began in Mesopotamia. </p><p>Mesopotamia is an exceedingly fertile plain situated between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. </p><p>For 5 millenia, the small bit of land, situated in current Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria, fostered innovation that would change the world forever. </p><p>Mesopotamia had a stable climate, rich soil, and a steady supply of freshwater, which made it ideal for agriculture to develop and thrive.</p><p>They invented advanced mathematics, the base 60 system, and most importantly, literacy.</p><p>From drawing pictures on cave walls in order to tell stories, literacy turned into a sophisticated writing system called Cuneiform by 3200 BC. It was used to write the Code of Hammurabi.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
