Quran is written by Our Mighty Creator, Allah SWT. It was written years ago as a guidance for us to lead our life in the name of Allah. We should have proper care while reading the Quran. We should not only recite the Quran but we as a Muslim should understand what's written in the Quran. Understanding Quran can lead to a better life, and we would strengthen our Iman by not doing the forbidden things.

Hadith Jibril is the second hadith of Imam Nawawi. It talks about how Jibril AS asks the Prophet SAW about the pillars of Islam, pillars of Iman and what Ihsan is. Jibril AS also asks about the signs of the Hour.

Islam, Iman and Ihsan is like the stages and path to the right way. By following the pillars of Islam, It's the first stage of bringing and forcing yourself to do the actions that Allah wants you to do. The second stage is where you have Iman which you don't only do those actions but strengthen the relationship with Allah. And then there's the third stage. Ihsan. Where your worship Allah as if you see Him and even if you cannot see Him, you know that He sees you. So, this is the journey to the divine.

Sawm, or fasting, is a powerful act of worship that carries immense virtues. It teaches self-discipline, patience, and sincerity, as only Allah truly knows who is fasting. Fasting purifies both the body and soul, helps control desires, and increases taqwa (God-consciousness). It is a shield from sins and Hellfire, and the reward for it is so great that Allah Himself says, "Fasting is for Me, and I will reward it." (Hadith Qudsi). Through sawm, the heart becomes softer, gratitude deepens, and the bond with Allah strengthens.

Vitues found in sawm is;

Taqwa

Self-discipline

Empathy

Spiritual cleansing

Hajj is a sacred journey that brings immense spiritual rewards and life-changing experiences. It purifies a person from sins, as the Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever performs Hajj and avoids foul language and immoral behavior will return like a newborn baby” (Bukhari & Muslim). Hajj teaches humility, equality, and submission to Allah, as millions gather with the same purpose. It unites Muslims from around the world, strengthens faith, and reminds the believer of their true purpose — to worship and return to Allah.

Virtues found in hajj

A form of Jihad

Fulfilling a major pillar of Islam

Unites the ummah

Increases Taqwa and Sabr

Zakah is a form of purification and blessing for both wealth and the soul. It cleanses the heart from greed and selfishness while fostering compassion and care for others. By giving zakah, a Muslim helps reduce poverty, supports the community, and strengthens social unity. It reminds the giver that wealth is a trust from Allah, not just a personal possession. Zakah also brings barakah (blessing) into one’s life and is a means to earn Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.

Virtues found in zakah;

Purifies wealth and heart

Supports the needy

Promotes social equity

Strengthens community ties

Honestly, joining this Usrah has been such a sweet part of my uni life. Everyone in the group is friendlyyy. Especially Sr Tihani. I love how she leads the usrah and knowledge about Islam. I aspire to be like her someday as a struggling someone who is trying to love and understand our religion. Every session would always left me in tears or sebak, how do u say it hahaha. But it reminds me of what I did wrong and somehow trying to be better. Thank you Sr Tihani for conducting this Usrah well. I hope you strive well in your academics, life and both akhirat and dunya. May Allah keep this bond strong and bless all of us in our journey. Please also pray for my journey 💖
