I'm the student of GENERIC BSN semester 5 . I'm writing to you  about the nursing issues. The first thing we are seeing today is nursing shortage. In hospitals we see more patients and less nurse. We don't know the reason but it seems that may be hospitals are trying to meet their budget and save costs, whenever they can. The nurses have been facing a lot of issues since them. Which has put a lot of pressure on them. Due to the shortage of nurses, the patient cannot get proper attention because the number of nurses is less and the number of patients is more. And the second issue is personal health protection, such as the lack of nurses is putting a lot of burden on the current nurses and they have to work for a long time in this hope she can not take care of her health. They have to face all the problems like back problem and sore feet .
 
In my opinion, kindly eliminate the issue of staff shortage, so that  the nurses who are working in this hospitals are not burdened too much. therefore, this issue should be solved.

I am a student of Generic bscn for 3years and now after one year later I complete my reading. 
It is my belief that  I can be nothing that can must be take an action on it. 
The nurses staff must be need awarness about their issues and problem that effect our career. There are a lot of problems that can be faced by nurses which are short staffing, long working hours, work place hazard, work place violence, meditory overtime etc. 
We solve our problems to contact information our legislators with our solution. 
The nursing shortage and nursing wold should be recommend for items that educate nurses and there real complex issues and explain how these issues impact our practices.

I am writing this letter to inform you my problem that I face in my civil hospital Karachi skin ward as I told you that a nurse in my ward whom duty is in the cardiovascular ward but I don’t know why he comes in my ward and he says me I am your head incharge if you don’t follow my instruction I will disembody from your duty. He says me you work as I tell you I also work hard and give best treatment best hardworking for my patient and I come on my time whom the department of incharge officer given time in my roaster. I proud of my work It is very difficult and I cannot tolerate his canaille. 
There are so many wards in the civil hospital Karachi if you come and visit it may be difficult but if you come and visit our hospital you must know my problems that I face in my ward beacause the patient in my ward they are very active patients and they are Very well educated they know all things you must ask them about my hardworking and treatment whom I give them. So I will thankfull to you if you Will  solve my problem.

There is a shortage of nursing staff in all over Pakistan not only in government sector but in private sector. According to WHO the patient to nurse ratio should be 3:1 but in our country there is less. 
Therefore patients can not get proper gain and nurses are over burdenies too. I hereby request to higher authorities to look into this matter and understand the problem of patients and nurses and resolve this issue by hiring more nurses and fulfill the blank vacancies.

Due to shortage  of nurse current  nurse unable to manage   their daily  routine .
That is reason  some nurse suffer from depression  
so my opinion  about it is that the government  have power to solved the problem they can solved  but why they not

But most of the hospitals management take their extra timing which is an extra vagent with nurse's. May I request to higher authority to take action against this issue.

Most of the Nurses and Nursing students are not good at spoken and written skills because of poor educational background. The Nursing council of Pakistan has included English as a compulsory subject in the curriculum but that is not enough for we can see that nurses don't get proper environment to learn, acquire and imply the spoken skills.
Another attention worthy problem is that all the field-related courses designed by the PNC is in English and so are the recommended books. It shows that the students have no other choice. This thing, sometimes, brings a sense of deprivation in their mind and they are compelled to think that their native language does not have status of even a language. We have examples of countries like France, Germany, Japan etc. which converted all kind of knowledge in their native languages and boycotted all foreign languages. In my opinion, PNC and HEC should take measures to promote Urdu language in higher education, specifically, in medical fields.

Thank you for your attention. I am a student of Generic B.ScN at kharadar General Hospital. I am going to discuss nursing issues in Pakistan and elaborate on their huge responsibilities and restricted authorities.

 

First of all, as we know that there is a huge burden on nurses in the hospitals due to insufficient nursing staff. According W.H.O Average daily patient-nurse ratio (ADPNR) 11.9: 1.9: Secondary hospital: 13.1: 2.0: Tertiary hospital: 10.7: 0.7: Standardized average daily patient-nurse ratio (standardized ADPNR) 1.1: 0.1: Secondary hospital: 1.1: 0.2: Tertiary hospital: 1.2: 0.1. But in Pakistan, a single nurse deals with a huge number of patients. On the other hand, if we compare the graph of responsibilities of a nurse with the authorities so it will disappoint you deeply. Nursing staff work under a head nurse but they are bound to the doctor’s orders. Doesn’t matter it’s ok or not but they will follow the orders. Interestingly you will shock when you listen that for others’ mistakes nurses are to hold responsible for that mistakes. In nursing education, nurses study medicine and diseases deeply as well. So if the govt. make policies for nurses that they can also prescribe medicine. Govt. also allows nurses to give emergency medicine to the patient for temporary relief. Nurses need authorities by which they can prevent further complications and they can give critical care to the patient.

There are a lot of issues that should discuss but I enlist some important issues. I hope you will help me with this to point out these issues in front of society’s related department administrators. I shall be very thankful to you for this kindness.

I Sidra Yousaf student of Generic BSN Kharadar General Hospital School Of Nursing Karachi. I have noticed Working long hours due to staff shortage, job turnover, and other factors can result in chronic overtime, placing another burden on nurses.
Long hours and overtime aren’t a new issue. Nurses are repeatedly expected to complete 12-hour shifts with additional overtime too. This problem mainly stems from staff shortage but nurses often stay at work when there’s a serious accident too.
Working as a nurse is physically and emotionally stressful and it's important you have enough time to rest. When you’re exhausted at work, you aren't working your best.

I Shujait Ali student of Generic BSN. I have faced alot of problems during clinical days at Civil Hospital Karachi and also Kharadar General Hospital, when I was doing my duty in ER a patient came to check the vital I told him to sit and wait for his turn but the patient start argument that first check my vitals, then others and also started misbehaving with staff nurse. Although these cases are rare, unfortunately they can take place. Violence towards nurses can range from a verbal attack to something a little more serious. According to WHO found that between 8% and 38% of health workers have suffered some kind of physical violence during their career.
