I remember one time after she was diagnosed with cancer, I called her and began griping about my day. I realized that I was complaining about trivial things to a person who was just told she had cancer. I stopped myself and said, "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't be complaining to you." She, very sweetly, looked at me and said, "There are no greater-than or less-than signs when it comes to pain."
