Derek was locked in prison, after he murdered 2 black men, when they tried to steal his car. That, obviously, got him locked up. After that, Danny got attracted to the ideology Nazism, that his brother also supported. While Derek was in prison, Danny got into some of the trouble, that Derek got in prison for. He was hanging around most of the people, that Derek was hanging out with. He was always really impertinent around black people, and he took every fight he could get in to. The principle worried about Danny, because he knew his brother, Derek, and he knew that Danny was just as intelligent as Derek. And, most importantly, he knew about the trouble Danny was getting in to. So he got him to write about Americas History. When Derek eventually got out, he talked a lot about before and while he was in prison. About how his father pushed him in the direction, that ended up being Nazism. He talked about how it was in prison, and how he knew, that he had to keep quiet if he wanted to survive. And lastly, how he found a friend, that for once wasn’t white. Afterwards, when Derek hears about Danny’s life, and how he is following his own footsteps, he immediately reacts, and gets Danny out of that mess, that got him in jail. He beats Cameron, and gets them both out of the group, that got him in jail. At last, everything is good.
