I notice this in my daily routine when I wake up in the morning. For example, when my alarm rings, I immediately open my eyes and get out of bed. The sound of the alarm is the stimulus, and my action of waking up is the response.

This characteristic talks about an organism's response to their surroundings them. Basically, it is about the reaction and it can be shown externally or internally. For instance is when I see my scores in GenMath. I'd react like this and my heart will beat fast(example of movement) out of fear of what my parent's reaction will be.

one of the animals that i encountered everyday. things that i observe to them is that they have growth and development, because sometimes i noticed that they are kittens before but they're so big now. they also respond to stimuli as my cats often play and hurt themselves because of their recklessness. they can also adapt, and is also part of organization. cats also have the characteristics of humans. overall, this cute species are not just here to bring us comfort and company but also they creates a balance in our ecosystem.

I observed this characteristic of life when I was 3 years old — i look small and as i grow older I became mature enough. My body started to look more mature. But more importantly, I matured in the way I think and act. This showed that I was not just growing in height but also developing as a person.

Another example is when we are cold, we tend to shiver and when it's hot, we are sweating to regulate or body temperature. Lastly, when we are thirsty, our body (mind) will send us signal to drink water because when you body loses water, the amount of water in you blood goes down.

Metabolism is a set of chemical processes that convert food and water into energy. This energy is what we use in our daily tasks.

One example of this occurrence is you and me. The food we eat and the drinks we consume all undergo these processes to give us the energy. It is a characteristic of life, therefore all living things have these. Animals also undergo these processes, similar to humans.

But how about plants? Photosynthesis is also an example, where light energy, carbon dioxide and minerals are converted for the plant's growth and survival.

This is the characteristic I chose because it's very common for us humans to react to things or in a situation. For example, Mayor Along announced the cancellations of classes yesterday. Students felt an urge to respond with shock and happiness, or when we are startled, we tend to react. This is what it means to respond to stimuli.

I chose growth as a characteristic of life because I can see it in how my body has changed over the years. When I was younger, I was much shorter and smaller, but as I grew older, my height increased and my body became stronger. I notice it in simple things, like outgrowing my old clothes or seeing how my muscles feel firmer compared to before. For me, this shows how growth is a natural part of life that I personally experience every day.

Among the 7 characteristics of life, response to stimuli is one of the most evident characteristics that present life. When an organism like animals, plants and even humans, experience harsh condition, they tend to react immediately. That information processes through their brain. This means organisms can sense changes to their environment and react in ways they can survive. This shows the ability for an organism to react to the changes to their environment

This is a sign that our body is beginning a process that sends signals to our brain, telling us we need to eat. As someone who cane from a tropical country, it's natural that I'm always exposed to the harsh temperature such as heat. Like when I walk under the sun or engage in physical activity, my body begins to produce sweat. This sweat will evaporate from my skin surface helps release excess heat, preventing my body from overheating. This mechanism of our body which is called homeostatis is simple yet vital process ensures that my internal temperature remains within a safe and stable range, even when the environment around me is constantly changing. It depicts how our body continuously works to keep our system balanced and functioning properly.

Response to stimuli is the ability of living things to react to changes in their surroundings. For example, when we touch something hot, we quickly move our hand away, or when someone calls our name, we turn our head. Even simple actions like closing our eyes when the light is too bright are responses to stimuli. This characteristic is important because it helps living things survive and adjust to their environment.

Humans, plants and even animals has their own growth. Growth is a process where plants, animals, and humans increased: size and physical appearance. In my daily scenario, I have always witnessed our growing plants from our backyard. From seeds to developing stems and leaves, It's also visible that plants grows with blooming petals and flowers. I have also watched my brother, nephew growing each passing day. This scenario has been proved with plenty of evidence in humans, we can easily identify the change from their physical appearance. Growth is an example of characteristics of life. It is the change in physical appearance of a living organism. It can be observed in days, months, and years.

Metabolism constantly provides your body with energy for essential body functions like breathing and digestion.

I, as a student, has observed in my daily life that my metabolism has decreased rapidly. I assume that it is due to my poor consumption of food, that I adhere in my daily life.

Science has taught me well, that what I consume, is what keeps me alive and functioning.

During my daily walks around the neighborhood, I have observed the life cycle of a butterfly firsthand. I noticed small butterfly eggs attached to the leaves of garden plants. Over time, these eggs hatched into caterpillars, which I saw feeding on the leaves and gradually increasing in size. The caterpillars periodically shed their skin as they grew. After reaching a certain stage, one caterpillar formed a chrysalis and remained dormant for several days. Eventually, an adult butterfly emerged from the chrysalis, unfolded its wings, and flew away. Observing this sequence of events in my everyday routine clearly demonstrates the characteristic of growth, showing how living organisms develop and change over time.

In our everyday life, we consume food not just to eat but also to obtain energy from it. This is where metabolism comes in. Metabolism is our body's natural process for converting food and drink into the energy it needs to function. Bascially, we need energy to do daily tasks and we obtain it through the food we consume. I chose Metabolism as I believe it is one of the most important characteristics of life that we all experience daily and at all times. Not just as a factor in our lives but also because it provides us the necessary energy we need to function. Without energy, we can't simply go on in our daily lives, especially not on an empty stomach. Therefore, this goes to show how metabolism greatly affects us humans and how imporant it is for our daily lives.
