There are 17 seas, 1 ocean (of Storms) and
4 bays. But all of them are empty and dry. Scientists used to believe that there’d been water in them before, but the theory was proved wrong. Lunar seas are lowlands filled with basalt lava, which became solid long ago. Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin landed their Eagle spacecraft on the Sea of Tranquility.
