         <description><![CDATA[<div>Katherine was born in 1918, so now she has 99 years old. She, who is a physical, is african-american too.<br>Katherine contributed to the aeronautics of the USA and its space programs with the early application of digital electronic computers at NASA. She calculated the trajectory for the Mercury Project and the flight of Apollo 11 to the Moon in 1969. Her calculations were critical to the success of these missions.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Vaughan was a math teacher at the Moton High School in Farmville, Virginia. Finally, Vaughan died in 2008 with the age of 98.</div><div> </div>]]></description>

She was an African American mathematician and aerospace engineer at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). In 1958 it was succeeded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She worked at Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, for most of her career. She started as a computer at the segregated West Area Computing division. She took advanced engineering classes and in 1958 became NASA's first black female engineer.<br>Finally, she died on 2005<strong><em><br><br></em></strong> </div><div><strong><em><br></em></strong> </div>]]></description>
