Tasks:

1) briefly summarise what the IOM does and why it exists as an organisation (50 ish words).

2) Read the interactive summary of the IOM 2024 report, linked above (don't down load the full report, but scroll all the way down and explore the infographics.

3) Begin a glossary (you will keep this as a learning resource throughout this unit). Define the following words in your own terms:

4) write a 300(ish) word summary of the overall themes in the report. You might want to consider:

• what is the overall pattern of who is migrating and where?

• What has changed recently?

• What impacts does this have?

5) Now, choose an article from the IOM's main website (International Organization for Migration | IOM, UN Migration) about a migration issue that interests you or affects you. write 200 (ish) words outlining the issue in brief and explaining why you find it interesting.
