The bus driver in the story tells the audience to not let the pigeon drive the bus. The pigeon begs the audience to let him drive the bus. The audience does not allow the pigeon to drive the bus despite the pigeons demands. This book would be interesting for children who like funny books. It would also be best for younger children grades k-2. This could be used to teach about character traits.

Author: P.D. Eastman
This one of my favorite books to read to students. It is about a baby bird who hatches and leaves the nest to go find his mother. He goes around and meets all kinds of creatures and boats and planes but does not find his mother. Finally a giant truck picks him up and plops him back into his nest which is when he finally meets his mother. I could use this book to teach students about birds and how they live in nests.

The main character doe not like green eggs and ham and does not want to eat them not matter how hard Sam tries to get him to eat them. In the end he tries them and loves them. As a parent this story would be good to teach students to try and eat something first before going through all the trouble saying you do not like the food. You do not know you like it until you try it.

I have found that many activities go with using a muffin tin with the numbers 1-6 written on the bottom and small cubes the students then have to place that many cubes in the right number spot. There is also a muffin ABC activity. Cut out muffins with the top separate from the bottom. The top has the upper case letter and the bottom has the lower case letter and the students must sort them.
