• Earthquakes happen when the ground shakes. This happens because energy inside the Earth makes the rocks move quickly. When the rocks suddenly move, the ground shakes.

Volcanoes:

• A volcano is a mountain that can erupt and let out hot, melted rocks called lava. The energy inside the Earth makes the rocks so hot that they melt into lava. The lava comes out of the volcano when there is too much energy inside!

Weather:

• The sun gives us energy that heats up the air and the ground. This helps to make wind, clouds, and rain. Without the sun's energy, we wouldn’t have any weather!
