In general I will be talking about public/natural lands. I would like to spend the first 1/2--3/4 of my project talking about Denali and why it's important to me / why its preservation is in danger on a legislative level. Then, I'd like to include small snippets of a couple different interviews of people around the state answering the question: "Why do public/natural lands matter to you?" Then I would end with just the text of "Protect our public lands"

I’m still on the edge. It was brought to my attention that I could collaborate with my recycling club at my high school, but we meet on Tuesdays once a week, and our meeting last week was so busy with other things that I didn’t get a chance to propose it to them. I think I might do an individual film if I can get a group together in Fairbanks, otherwise I would enjoy working with a statewide group! -Ellie A

People I would like to interview:

I want the last 1/4 of my film to focus on interviews and to show perspectives from all over the state...and for this reason I can't choose from the majority of people that I know already because their perspectives are similar to mine in a lot of ways! So I'm not quite sure who to interview but anyone from all over the state would work, I would just like a few people each from different regions :)

Interview questions:

(Can you introduce yourself?) Where are you from? / Where do you live? / Where do you call home?
How/why do wild lands matter to you?
(In terms of legislation, climate change, etc.) How are the lands that you call home being threatened?
(Is there anything else you would like to share?)

Hi I'm Andrés Javier Camacho. I live in Juneau. I got interested in documentary filmmaking when I was 24. I had just spent 6 months traveling up Brazil's Doce River after the largest mine tailings spill in history. It was a heavy experience to witness that scale of destruction and it motivated me to be a storyteller that amplifies stories about water protectors and protection.
