Humans sometimes have a difficult time defending oneself. An example would be fighting for ones country or maybe a cop could use it too to defend oneself. Having this adaptation would allow for humans to take control over scary situations and feel protected.
2. Sometimes being large can help in a situation. For example, in sports, coaches looks for a BIG linebacker or in basketball,a BIG post player. Being large typically means you are strong as well. By being large, the Hercules beetle doesn't get attacked as much as the smaller beetles. Humans are the same way. Typically people do not "pick on" the big guy in school and do the scrawny kids. Humans have an advantage by being large because they typically do not have to worry about defending oneself.  
3. Sometimes humans need to camouflage themselves depending on the situation. For example, in the war. Soldiers tend to paint themselves with mud and leaves so they blend into the ground. If humans could change the color of their skin to disguise themselves, this will allow themselves to be protected from enemies. Hunting is another way humans could use this adaptation, survival of the fittest.
4. Humans need to dig for two important reasons: to build a house in which we live and for vegetation purposes. The Hercules beetles uses it's spiky legs to dig deep holes for food and shelter. Originated from Mexico & Bolivia. They are the strongest & largest beetle in the world. They can actually carry 850 times their own body weight.
Adaptations the Hercules Beetle has are:
1. BIG HORN- The horn the beetles have is sometimes larger than their entire body. This horn serves as a fighting technique for the male beetles. They can fight off their predators. This horn also serves as the beetles mouth.
2. BIGGER THE BETTER- Hercules beetles are super large. This gives them an advantage over other insects/beetles because other predators won't attack them because they can't win, most of the time.
3. CHANGING COLORS- Hercules beetles are usually yellow-green BUT they can change their color to black when needed. This helps them camouflage their bodies so that larger predators like large birds, reptiles and/or mammoths can't find them. 
4. DIG- Hercules beetles eat fruit and plants but their favorite food to eat is rotting wood. In order to eat the wood, they have to dig inside the bark. Hercules beetles have spiky legs that allow them to dig not only in wood but dirt, soil and other difficult places as well. When it is time for them to sleep, they use a tent or sometimes just a sleeping bag. What happens if the tent blows away? What happens if you do not bring enough food and water? What if you do not have any equipment to help you survive? You have to adapt. One way humans can adapt is by digging a hole for shelter and to find food. If humans can dig, without the need of actual equipment then they would be able to survive longer than just a weekend trip.
