What have I thought of Nashoba?

The past four years at Nashoba have been significant to me. There were good things and bad things, but I'd like to focus more on the good. Not only have I received an amazing education thanks to some awesome teachers, I have also learned life lessons I will take to college with me. High school is a giant part of a person's life, and I can say that I have had a good experience. As much as I say "I can't wait for college", I'm also going to miss Nashoba.

School Trips.

This is a photo of my friends Lish, Alexis, Andréa, and I on a school trip to NYC through the music program at Nashoba. i am so grateful that I was able to go on such an amazing trip to a place where I have always dreamed about. I got to go see my favorite music on Broadway and I got to meet a Broadway casting director. This is not the only great trip I have been on through the school, and it is so awesome that the school can provide wonderful trips like this one.

Best Buddies Chorus

Although I was not able to be a regular member of Best Buddies, I was a part of Best Buddies Choir. It has been a huge part of my life and I am so blessed to have been able to work with these amazing people. This is a photo of my buddy Nick and I. He has taught me the most. He has taught me to always wear a smile on my face and be brave when the situation gets tough.

Nashoba Drama

Nashoba Drama has made the most impact on me during my four years, and yes, there will be lots of photos on here of it. I have had the pleasure of being a part of drama for all four years, and it has helped me break out of my shell and grow as an actress, singer, and dancer. When I decided to try out as a freshman for the fall play, A Christmas Carol, I was really bad. But Mr. Bill Grady, our wonderful director, saw something in me. Ever since I started those rehearsals, I was hooked. Sure, I didn't get into a few of the shows, but I didn't give up! I have learned how to work as a team and to work hard towards a goal. I've also learned never give up until you finally succeed. I've learned that it's okay to make a mistake, especially since for the most part, nobody notices. I have realized my love for it is so strong, and I have decided to minor in it during my time in college and become a drama therapist. I was the treasurer for my final year in drama and I realized how much effort is really put into the club and what it means to be a leader. This will be the part of high school that I will definitely remember the most.

Swim team

Although this was the first year swim was actually a team this year, it has been a club the previous two years. I did the club the first year it started up, and then joined back in this year. I don't really remember sophomore year, but I will definitely remember it this year. I have improved so much from when I started. When I started, I wasn't that confident, and I was only swimming certain events (I call them the "lame events"). But then I started to get better, and I would swim four events in one race! Big events too! There was one time where I only had one event in between two that I had that were long. I was exhausted! I also kept getting new best times each time I participated in an event, and in my last meet, I dropped eight seconds off of a race! (that's a lot for swim). It was a good way to stay fit, and even though my college doesn't have a swim team, they have a pool that I will be taking advantage of.

Where I am going next

In the fall, I will be attending Elmira College in Elmira, NY. I am going to major in psychology and minor in theatre. In the future, I hope to become a drama therapist and help people (mostly with autism) express themselves through acting, singing, and dancing. Five years from now, I can say that I will be getting my masters degree in psychology and following my dreams.
