William was born on April 16 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. He had seven siblings and was son of John and Mary Shakespeare. He went to school at King Edward VI. He was the third eldest child in his family and had two older sisters. When William turned 13 his father pulled him out of school to help him work. His father was a glover and an illegal wool dealer. when he was 18 William had a crush Anne Hathaway and decided to recite a love poem to her from a book to tell her about his love. Many people don't now what Anne's personality was or how she looked. But we do have lots of paintings of her (one of them is displayed below). He and Anne got married but however he was promised to two women. I was shocked when I found this out!
