Think about what motivates people to obey and fight alongside a leader such as Beowulf. His warriors were primarily driven by LOYALTY to support him. In contrast to that, there are some who are bound by LEGALITY to stand beside their leader. In your opinion, which one of these motivating factors, legality or loyalty, creates stronger community cooperation? Explain why you chose your answer.

A bond formed through loyalty is going to be stronger than one formed through legality because it has stronger motivation. If someone is forced to be somewhere or forced to do something, there is far less drive to do such a task well. It is an external drive. This is in strong contrast to loyalty where there is a stronger, internal drive to complete the task at hand.
