I always forget that other are looking for the additional bullet point on their resume. Considering how PTA involvement falls under Domain 4, showing engagement (and being a founding member) would look great and prove yourself as a go-getter!

meh feelings about UAA & the MAT program at this point. I personally am not looking to add a bullet to my resume  that is not something that I am passionate about. If others are interested, great, I  will happily ride on the coat tails and "pay dues" but I'm not sure in the short time I am here that a club is going to add to my experience. That said, if the club can minimize how often I hear about a certain professors bird project, I might be in;). For reals though, I think that energies would be better spent in getting better organization within the program, and maybe this a way to do that?
I believe this stems from the convo re. union reps and how to get more info about post-grad school issues... I'd rather just work on building relationships with those parties and getting meetings going than "start a club".  Really, I wish the program that I pay beaucoup $$ organized this shit for us.
