The structure is located in Barangay Kalanganan in Cotabato City and was funded by Hassanal Bolkiah the Sultan of Brunei. It is named after the sultan of Brunei who according to reports contributed US$40 million for its construction.<br><br>The Grand Mosque today is one of the most visited attractions in Cotabato City.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><strong>Lake Holon</strong> or <em>Lake Maughan</em> as called by the local tribespeople, is actually the crater of Mt. Parker or <em>Mt. Melibengoy</em> in T'boli, South Cotabato. It is situated at around 4,700 feet above sea level. The stratovolcano's last eruption was last recorded during January 4, 1641. The 1641 eruption caused the formation of the crater lake. Lake Holon is famous for its crystal clear waters and is deep enough that up to this moment, its depth was not yet measured. It was named after an American who died with Gen. Parker on a plane crash during the 1930s when they are surveying the place.<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

It's irregular and characteristic shape is formed by volcanic uplift during previous periods of activity. Mt. Matutum has a well-preserved 320-m-wide crater at the volcano's summit, it's last eruption was recorded in 1911. At a 2,286 meters rising high above sea level, Mt. Matutum is undoubtedly the provinces most imposing land mark that dominates the entire landscape from General Santos to Koronadal City.Matutum and its foothills are predominantly inhabited by indigenous Blaan families.<br><br><strong>Interesting facts</strong> :<br><br>The name Matutum is derived from the Blaa'n term "<em>Amyak Maleh",</em> that means Climb and Plant.</div>]]></description>
