Maya Angelou’s  was trying to say that Joe Louis’ one victory was a victory for every single African American because it proved to every caucasian person who was talking on them because they believed they were superior had their mouths shut with this victory. "

This relates to the theme because it's referring to how Joe Louis was supposed to win the fight because he was being pushed into it and he knew that if he didn't win he would let his people down and this could have pushed him to do his best. She showed us that it gets hard in a world with racism, and that that fight meant more than just winning. It proved that Joe Louis, a black man, is worth just as much as his competition, a white man. Maya Angelou showed that all people are strong by saying, “Champion of the world. A Black boy. Some Black mother’s son. He was the strongest man in the world” (Angelou). She showed that winning that fight meant more to them than just winning. It showed that they are strong humans.

He still managed to push through his struggle he sucked up all the hate he was getting and made people realize who he really was, he lived up to his expectation he gave it all he had he gave it his 110% he was not a man that was going to tolerate racism.
