We see that Moss married Carla when she was sixteen, making Moss about double her age. This compiled with some previous knowledge let’s on that Moss is a little creepy. We also find out that he served in Vietnam and understand that he isn’t just a dumb cowboy. She generally does not change and has the same behavior, opinions, and personality as she had earlier in the book. Carla doesn’t change mainly for the reason that she is a one way character. She is only really seen in the story through dialogue which is usually formatted in a Q and A.
