         <description><![CDATA[<p><sup>As an ESL teacher, it is crucial for me first to identify the challenges that my students may be facing in learning a second language. Then I would look out for signs of their inability to respond to questions if it is because of the language barrier or learning disability. That needs me to observe their behavior in the classroom and they interact with their native language teacher.</sup></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><sup>The teacher can monitor the patterns of how they participate in class activities to notice if they try to avoid participation in classroom games or refuse to give answers when the teacher asks them a question. Additionally, I can also look at whether they can recall concepts that they have recently learned. Teachers can also try to see if any physical impairments may be affecting them such as hearing or visual impairment.</sup></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><sup>Language Needs: </sup></strong><sup>If a student shows signs of language difficulties such as struggling with recognizing vocabulary that has been studied, and struggling with pronunciation and sentence structure. In some cases, the student will say some things in their native language as they can't express themself in English.</sup></p><p><strong><sup>Learning Needs:</sup></strong><sup> The teacher notices that the student struggles to hear instructions(auditory impairment), or struggles to process and respond to information. The student can't maintain focus or see notes on their books/ the board(visual impairment).</sup></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><sup>If a student has </sup><strong><sup>language needs</sup></strong><sup>, I can request for a bilingual teacher to translate instructions and materials into their native language and also use clear instructions, apply drilling in most activities, and pair with a student who speaks the native language.</sup></p><p><strong><sup>Learning needs:</sup></strong><sup> Allocate more time for the student to complete tasks, and reduce the quantity of assignments given. Additionally, the teacher can design Individualized Education Plans(IEP) to help meet the student's needs by adjusting teaching style (more auditory, visual, or kinesthetic teaching). And continuously monitor the students' progress and change strategies for the better.</sup></p>]]></description>
