These violations occur for several reasons. One of the reason is because many people think that because they are behind a computer their identity is protected and there are no consequences to their actions. Another reason is because of the endless resources within a computer people, feel like they can get away with stealing from other due to the temptation that occurs. For example, a student who either does not know how to cite or perhaps does not want to do his own paper. He will be tempted to plagiarize a paper, change the words around and portray as if the project is his.

I think in order to reduce or maybe eliminate such unethical behavior one must continue to inform computer users of these issues and their consequences.

Like I previously noted, I think both employees and perhaps students should be required to take training on computer ethics. Computer ethics is important because many violate it and while some do get away with not having an identity behind their screen, many have gone to jail for violations.
