The reason that most of these center are run are purely for profit. The more prisoners or in this case illegal immigrants they have, the more money they get. The key points are that it is expensive to keep people in these centers. In 2019, the average cost of each inmate was 95 British Pounds, or roughly 125 U.S. dollars. There are a few differences between U.S. and UK centers though. Children are supposed to grow up and have great memories and experiences. Instead, all of the children who were forced to stay in these centers will now grow up to be traumatized. In fact, these children did nothing wrong to even be here in the first place and now they are in a foreign child prison without there parents.
