British fleet under Lord Nelsondefeats a combined French and Spanish fleet at the Battle of Trafalgar, fought off the coast of Spain. on October 21, Nelson divided his 27 ships into two divisions and fought for 5 hours straight against the two allied forces. In the end of the battle the British had won without any ships destroyed and only 1,500 dead or wounded men including Lord Nelson himself. This battle caused the French's plans to change drastically by preventing France to ever invade Britain.

The Battle of Waterloo, in which Napoleon’s forces were defeated by the British and Prussians, signaled the end of his reign and the end of France’s domination in Europe. After Waterloo, Napoleon abdicated and later died in exile.
