He is important because is the one who started the Protestant Reformation.&nbsp;<br><br>2) Some complaints Luther had was that he was against indulgences, simony, and nepotism. These practices were when people would buy their way into heaven. This practice didn't benefit the peasants or the illiterate. Luther was so successful because his ideas spread quickly, thanks to the printing press.<br><br>3) The Protestant idealogy is different from the ideologies of the Catholic Church. Protestants believe more in ones individual connection to God. They also believe having good faith, believing in yourself, and doing good deeds will get you into heaven.<br><br>4) &nbsp;The Spaniards were already misusing their money greatly. With the Thirty-Years war, the Spaniards ended up using all their money to fund these wars against the Protestants. This misuse of money hit them greatly. </div>]]></description>

Martin Luther is historically significant to western Europe because when he spoke out about the "bad" things of the roman catholic church, he changed the whole dynamic of the world. People had options and could have opinions on Roman Catholicism. He changed the way Christianity worked.&nbsp;<br>2. Luther complained that the Catholic church was not running properly/morally. The "deed" that followers of the church did, like paying the priests, were not going to allow them into heaven, humans would only reach salvation through their faith, not deeds. Luther's success in obtaining followers was due to the printing press, this allowed for his ideas to spread rapidly.&nbsp;<br>3. The protestant ideology, was that one could reach heaven only by faith, and good deeds were a part of their religion but it was not the reason why you went to heaven.<br>4.&nbsp;The thirty-year war was the final blow to Spain because they could not afford the loss after they had already lost so many people to Protestantism.
