My hands are shivering as I reach down to the water,

I see you there,

Perfectly poised,

An elegance never hesitating to prevail.

Slowly breathing,

I move my hands over the round cages that drag me

Rolling like a clown in your presence,

My hands push me forward.

I stumble, not that I even can,

I tremble in my chair as you dive down deep into the waters,

I see you, you don’t see me,

I’m too small of a being to even be noticed

Look at me!

But no. Of course it’s not meant to be,

Amidst the rain pouring down, you listen to me cry

As you take flight so beautifully,

I sigh.

It’s fickle, yet beautiful at the same time.

Yet still I scowl, I know my movements are no match for yours,

You walk in a way, so fierce, so bold.

I’m simply tired, getting old in this chair of mine,

Which I roll in every day,

A mindless existence but when I see you I still pray,

To walk beside you one day

Crisp dew crowns Autumn leaves of reds and golds,
Fluttering onto reeds and marigolds.
Ripples light up in the soft tones of sunset,
As the swan dances it’s final minuet.

The sky drops to blue as the sun fades away,
The crescendo fades with the darkening sunlight.
Then, for a second, there is silence,
As the land turns to listen to the swan.

Feathers rustling as they change from whites,
To dusty grey. Open for a final time.
Amid the far lands of Fae and spirits,
A song only heard in the lost sublime.
