Panels 5-6 from Page 36 and panels 1-4 on page 37. These panels clearly present the way which class and wealth interfere with Marji’s Society, even permeating into her family through her father. Marji’s confusion and disturbance reiterates the idea that people are not born with their beliefs and values but taught them. Marji’s father going out of his way to tell Mehri’s crush that she is a maid is unnecessary but dis[plays the way which their society thrives off of keeping people of a lower social class perceived as below as a means of their own protection.
