AP Biology is a rigorous science course where you will learn about the scientific study of life. This course covers many objectives such as ecology, cellular reproduction, cell structure, biochemistry, DNA, and evolution.
During the duration of this course I learned many new things. This course helps you with preparation for college and your future. It also will help boost your GPA if you put effort into it.
AP Biology is not as hard as everyone claims it to be, however it is a rigorous course and you will be expected to do all work assigned at a college level. You will be required to be creative and deep thinking. This is easy if you stay focused and do your best.
A big tip for this class is to never procrastinate or miss assignments. There are new assignments and projects to do everyday if you procrastinate or miss one assignment it can take weeks to make up. This can and will drop your grade significantly. ALWAYS do your work and turn it in in the appropriate folder on the day the work is due, this will help you keep a good grade.
Overall, do your work on time, try your best, and ask questions and your year will go by easily. I wish all of you the best of luck!
Sincerely,
AB

If you thought this call would be an easy grade think again. This AP Biology course will well fully prepare you for the AP and EOC test. You are expected to try your best, ask questions, complete assignments, and study. Since this is an AP class more is expected out of you. This class is designed to ready you for college so do not expect to be treated like a child.
The assignments that you will be given in this class are not easy. If you miss one assignment it is difficult to catch up, unless you stay up all night to do it. Never forget to do the guided reading questions, they can lower your grade if they are not complete. If you use Google for ANYTHING, Mr.Sanders will find out, she was not born yesterday and she knows what she taught us. Do not complain about grades if you did not put the assignment in the right folder or if it was not in the folder on time.
During this course I learned ample amounts of Science but most importantly I learned that every assignment counts. Each assignment helps some how, and readies you for the tests. I also learned to show teachers the right respect whether it be in an email or in the class. You will also learn to read before you do the assignment, especially the labs. You should get a feel of how college class will actually be and be prepared for them.
You need to come to school prepared with all materials. Do the homework assignments and class assignments on time, it is not easy to catch up on assignments. Do not forget to do the Efolio, it does count as a grade. Show the respect that you want to be given in class. Lastly enjoy the course as much as you can, its not all that bad.

Good luck

RUN! RUN AS FAR AS POSSIBLE!

Run while you still can, enjoy this day while you still have a will to live. This class is going to take that away from you. You will have to work hard for the grade you get. Dont expect this to be an easy A.
You will have to study and complete all your work, this should take you at least a good few hours ( more than 2). Most of the work she gives is online but she also gives a lot on paper, just because its online doesnt mean you can put it aside. Dont expect her to give you make up work or an extension, you wont get it. Participate in class and go to tutoring if you need it. Dont talk over her or talk when you are not suppose to. You will do a lot of crafting activities so do get things like that, especially if you like to use a lot of tape because she wont give you much. Make sure to keep up with the worksheets and papers she gives you. Keep your journals organized, you will turn those in at the end of the year.
In this class we will go over the topics of evolution, biotech, genetics, ecology, biochem, and more. You will have math in this class, specifically in heredity. You will also do a lot of kahoot and quizzez, make sure you win them all.You will have labs for most of the units and while they are fun take good notes because you will need them for the lab reports. You will also get a lot of notes and worksheets, complete those on time. The section you should really focus on is evolution, she said its a majority of the test
In all dont worry that much, just buy a lot of monsters, sleep less, and do your work and you should be fine. This class while it is rigorous is fun. You will learn a lot but most of it is review from previous years. She will help you out a lot with review work and notes.

Good Luck!

Well good day. None of you will possibly see these letters and other forms of writing, but Ms. Sanders has told us to do it. So I will.

Ahem.

This course is a nice course to take, if you enjoy thousands of assignments on top of one another and then hoping and praying that the work isn't due in the next couple of days. Things that you'll do will be time consuming, all of the homework from any class you get is probably going to be time consuming, so don't just slack off and laze about like most people do, and be a good child. DO YOUR WORK. It is better to do it when it's assigned then to be trying to catch up at the end of the grading period.

Expect to have high thoughts of giving up, loss of hope, and turning back to being in that class that you were in last year for some other thing and hating it with every fiber in your body because the people that were in that class weren't as intellegent as you are. No siree you will have to wage against the wrath of non stop work from the schedule and the classroom and all of the other apps and cool websites you'll never see after senior year.

DON'T and I repeat DON'T try to be a smart aleck if Ms. Sanders is in a bad mood. Things will get very spicy and you will feel like you just tried talking back to your mother. Terribly feeling like your heart is being rung out and hung to dry like a towel. But don't say I didn't warn you.

DO just what is asked, and if you are stuck on something ask classmates, if they also don't know what they are doing then you aren't going to get much of anywhere. But the holy grail and advantage to having a teacher is that they can answer all the questions you have. Also DO check your grades, they are important and if you did an assignment, but got a 0 on it, either ya didn't do it. Or something is wrong.

Make sure when your coming into this class you have patience, a will to live, and other things that are possibly on the list of materials, read the syllabus. You'll need to make a front cover of your interactive notebook so make sure you are semi creative, or have any hobbies. We all have hobbies, but some of us have inappropriate ones, don't share those.

After having this year round class I've learn all about myself and how much of a pathetic excuse I am which is why, you should take the class, belittle yourself and then during the summer cry yourself to sleep because you're so happy that it's all over and never need to be in the class, that is until you go back to school.

I am going to scadat. Whatever you cool kids do.
Peace One Love.

I could tell you all of the horror stories of taking this course, but at the end of the day i promise it wasn't as bad as i could make it seem. AP Bio is not easy please don't take it for a joke. Be prepared the information is extensive and your going to learn so much your heads going to hurt. But even though its a lot , don't panic, you got this stay as stress free as possible. If i could give you any advice it would be " stay on top of your work". Do not let it pile up and then your desperately trying to complete assignments before their checked. She will not hold your hand and walk you through everything your going to have to learn to think on your own, i hope your ready for a taste of college.

In addition i hope you know this letter isn't to scare you but to benefit you. I've learned as a AP student sometimes were not warned about what our peers, teachers, parents, and guidance throw us into. If they told you its a piece of cake for a hard worker they lied. The information is rigorous but not impossible. I recommend team work find a study buddy help each other out sometimes that helps to make work go by faster and before you know it your time management is back on schedule . "GOOGLE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND" yes its so much easier to look up every answer but if you don't know the information on test day what are you going to do? Where is Siri when the proctor says and you may begin test , do us both a favor and do your work. Your teacher is here to help you, yes she may be a little rough around the edges, but she cares and as long as you show her the respect she needs shes willing to help. My last advice is to pay attention to detail its the little things that matter and its the little things that'll hurt your grade. I wish you luck, i can't wait to see the effort you put forth. If you ever for a second doubt yourself just know im here to tell you other wise , read me again and ill tell you over and over again just how amazingly smart you are.YOU GOT THISSSSS.

Were going to discuss Do's and Don't of the class to help you survive. Your in a jungle this is survival of the fittest aka natural selection, adapt or die! Let us discuss her materials. If you are the type to get a lot of stuff and waste it, buy your own. There is a signature look for your teacher that will make you cringe as she sarcastically asks you why your over using her stuff. AVIODDDD smart comments , don't do it ,your not ready for the toe to toe who's right contest. You will lose. Know when to ask her things, think of your parents when you want to go somewhere , don't you wait till there in a good mood. Lets be the species that survives this year.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

AP Biology is one of the more difficult classes that this school has to offer. Treat it as such. You will learn everything you need to if you treat the class as a difficult one. It is worth your time. If it is completed correctly you will develop a stronger work ethic.
You should expect more work than you are comfortable with, or at least more than you would like to have. Some of the assignments will seem unnecessary, but they will be developing your knowledge. Expect to get bored of the subject matter especially in the concepts that are much more detailed than they probably should be.
Do all of your work as soon as it's assigned. You will never have the opportunity to thank yourself for not procrastinating, because you will never have to deal with the stress that accompanies it and so will not be aware of it. That being said if you know you are the best procrastinator out there, heed these words: "Due tomorrow? Do Tomorrow." I passed the class with those words in mind.
So even though the class may be boring it's great for your GPA and all that stuff.
K bye.

In this AP class you need to be able to manage your time. DoN't PrOcRaStiNaTE, not saying many of you will take my advice because I didn't take it either. You need to put a lot of effort in completing your assignments, as they may seem overwhelming but, if you put the effort and try your best to do your work on time then things will almost 80% of the time work out fine. If not then that's a sad life for you. Even though, things don't go your way at first you can slowly adjust to a new classroom of instruction and other stuff in order to be able to understand what you learn in class. Maybe you think the class is pretty agonizing and torturing (which I'm not gonna lie either it was sorta of like that at times) but, at the end next time things get better (hopefully for you).
Anyhow to prepare for this class make sure you put dates and organize your efolio and notebooks in order. That way there isn't a lot to stress about when you need to turn it in. Try to stay calm and not do much talking that way you don't get in trouble 'a lot'. Don't do anything stupid because you might get in trouble and nobody got time for that.
No matter what take the class if you can it's good for your GPA too, if you want that high GPA then go ahead and take this course. At the end try your best and don't give up yet. Just try to keep your life together cause i couldn't.

Just like any AP class, AP Biology is a challenging course that pushes you to find the extent to which you can learn information. This class can help educate you on the world around you. It gives you skills that you'll be able to use for the rest of your life. It practically makes all your other classes in high school (that aren't of this level) extremely easy.
Although it's very easy to get caught up in the work and fast paced days, it is always important to remember to take care of yourself. If you're like me, procrastination is your best friend, and it's often hard to remember to eat and sleep might be a thing of the past. Always make sure to remind yourself that food does exist and is needed when trying to complete a rigorous assignment over the course of a few days. Take a short break to help clear and rest your mind. And try keeping the procrastination to a minimum. The work in this course will be a breeze if you're able to resist your desire to be distracted. Make sure to start the year off great; this will make the future much easier.
The purpose of the work you're being given is to help prepare you for the AP biology exam. It's supposed to be a lot of work, so you should expect a lot of work. Don't expect this class to be easy, but just because it isn't easy, doesn't mean it's impossible for you to do it.
Good Luck!!!!
:)

Your performance in this class will be based on your attitude. If you take this class with sincerity, you should do just fine. But if you are not willing to work hard, you will never make it. Always have a good attitude when you walk into this class. Sometimes you might now want to do the work, but continue to push yourself to get it finished, and you will succeed.
It is really not that difficult if you pay attention, do your work and homework, and come to class on regular basis. DO not get behind on your work because it will catch up to you and leave you exhausted, so just do it while you have the chance. Do not put it off. If you miss a day, make sure you ask Ms. Sanders for the work and do it in a timely manner.
You will greatly enjoy this course and learn and experience many amazing things. Especially the labs, they were my favorite. But ALWAYS do your best in the class and you will have no problem passing it and you will love it.

Yes I understand that having a YEAR long class may seem awful and sometimes it is but depending on the teacher it can be really fun. In this class DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!! From experience of procrastinating in this class you WILL FAIL and it does suck. This class you will have to come home and go straight to work so you're not staying up till 2 o'clock in the morning doing homework.
Now we had 14 kids in our class...2 of them guys, go girl power...because of this I already knew half the class from them being in my AP Earth and Environmental class ssssoooooo obviously when she put us in ABC sitting chart I was next to a friend. That didn't last long, because we made jokes about how we're going to fail (not knowing we were predicting the future truthfully) and stuff. The second week of school She moved the person next to me and I was alone for the rest of the year.
I also was that type of a person who be like nnaaahhhhh I have the weekend...(-_-)smh...that always failed because then as I thought I have the WHOLE weekend to do homework, I don't do it because (a) something pops up or (b) I'm too lazy or (c) I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO DO IT because I'm very forgetful.
Now as I am making this I am thinking ooommmmggggg I just failed the EOC my life is over. This WILL happen to you unless you have an insanely large ego. Don't stress too much about the failing because chances are you didn't...hopefully. If you did your work and stuff you will be AOK

Today we were told to write you guys these letters so yall could get advice and expectations from us. When I first got in this class I thought this class dosen't seem so bad, I was WRONG. This class isn't meant for you if your just gonna sit in here and do nothing because I promise you, you will not pass and Ms. Sanders don't play that game. This class was a year long rigorous course. In this class you do so much, from labs to projects to papers etc. So once again I tell you do not play around in this class.
Throughout the year this class has taught me a couple things about life and myself in general. I learned that you shouldn't just take this class for the credits, because at the end of the year you earn so much more than credits. This class teaches you how to expand your brain and it encourages you to get out of your comfort zone. It teaches you to work to the best of your ability because if not you won't get a pleasing grade. You learn to NOT PROCRASTINATE (Don't do it guys i'm telling you), and lastly this class challenges your abilities. As a student athlete, playing a sport in the fall and spring I learned to multi-task and how to do time management.
At the end of the year I looked back on how far I came and the other 12 students, and I think to myself "I'm glad I took this class". Ms. Sanders is pretty cool too guys, just remember to never get on her bad side, cause lord knows she will get you, just saying. I'm not even gonna lie there was nights I would stay up to 1-2 a'clock in the morning trying to finish work but trust me when I tell you it's all worth it when you take both exams. Anyway have a good year guys, I hope you enjoy it as much as me. Good Luck!!!!

Obviously this class is not going to be easy. It is literally in the name: AP Biology. You will have a few projects. You will have a lot of homework. You will need to be a good student for two semesters in order to pass this class. Some of your homework assignments might count more towards your grade than other homework assignments. The same thing applies for projects.
My advice to you is to not stress about it too much though. The class itself isn't THAT hard, it's the amount of work. The AP exam wasn't even that bad. As long as you do what you're told, you will do fine. The hardest thing to do in this class, in my opinion, is the guided readings. The thing about them is that they are very time consuming. That is what makes this class's work hard. You should come up with a good time management chart or something to help you out. For projects however, you will always have ample time to complete them.
One thing I really like about this class is how many labs you do. If I remember correctly, we did about 10 labs, maybe more. The labs aren't hard at all, and they are fun. Plus, lab reports aren't hard to write, so there are some easy 100s. For some people, this class is stressful. For me, it isn't that bad. Good luck on taking AP Biology!

First off you need to ask yourself why do i want to take this class? " Is it for the AP credit , is it because you heard it was a easy course ,is it for the college credit, or do you just simply like science. Well if you don't have a reason behind why you chose this class i feel for you, because this class is not easy, it requires alot of your time and also dedication which will be put into the work you do, which WILL reflect your grade. You will be treated like a college student whether your an athlete and have games and practices your work will still be due the same time as all the other students. Any extracurricular activities will not exempt you from your work. (read that twice) . It is best when you have a question, about your work , a missing grade, a due date, that you approach her during non-instructional time or through way of email. When you get lab reports or take home quizzes really take advantages of this , study the lab so you know what your doing and the lab report will be easy cause they weigh ALOT on your grade which can either break or make you , and take home quizzes are expected to be a 100 because you simply use every source their is to complete your test.
Cheating wise about everything is online so YES its easy to cheat but that's your decision, i would tell you rising students "NO Dont Cheat" but your prolly going do it anyway, so i would recommended you guys not to cheat to the point where you don't know whats going on in when class discussion or when she gives a pop quiz or test you lost. Because she doesn't mind putting you on the spot.
If you have ever heard that the instructor for this course is mean, rude, or disrespectful, JUST LET ME EXPLAIN to me IDK about anyone else but she gets real aggravated when a student dont know what their doing or repeatadly ask the same question , at times i feel like she may talk to a person a bit disrespectful but i guess she kinda catches herself or whatever . Just stay on her good side. Do you work on time ,push yourself and be organized. Then whats their to fuss about. The class moves in units and you have an interactive notebook to show all of this. xi8ig b b
