1. The answer for the first question was “C” because it makes the most sense that the African Americans wanted to make a new life by applying art and music.
2. The answer that best defines the first question is “D” because it supports the first answer.
3. The best answer for this is “D” because in the text it shows that most of their jobs were their old jobs and getting a higher paying one was hard.
4. The best answer for this was “C” because it best supported the 3rd answer.

1.I would paraphrase this poem by saying whoever created this poem is relating the United States(southern) as a person and female. I say this because they say “she” as in land is female and I say southern Us because that’s were most of the racism and segregation was located.
2.someone who would like this poem is probably someone who has had this type of background history and know what it was like during these times. People who can relate and agree on the song would like this song a lot because again they would be able to relate to the suffering.

1. Culture, I learned that culture can really spread far and it only takes a couple of people to spread it for hundreds years.
2. Bravery, back then it must of taken massive amounts if bravery to even think about getting your own culture and style
3.race, again back then minority groups were viewed less than people but they have worked their way up to where they belong which was equality
4. Food, food is apart of culture but it is also different in a way, food will always bring people together no matter what type of food it is.
5. Lastly, dedication, the African Americans started from the bottom and made their way up which is surprising because they already had a disadvantage being black.
