The thought that there is so much discrimination throughout the entirety of the novel against minorities (i.e. females) is so crude and to think that just a few years ago(1900's) woman were still being treated like that.

After completing this amazing novel, something that still lingers in my mind is the amount of feminism displayed. This to me is something I find extraordinary. Considering the time period, this was not very common. It really goes to show how strong and empowering women can be.
-NB

The aspect that lingers in my mind is what was the mental illness that the protagonist had. I wonder if there is an actual diagnosis for what her and her mother had that led them to be considered mentally ill. In addition, another aspect is how the women would act in this novel. They would voice their thoughts, as seen in Christophine's character.

Also the relationships between men and women in the 1900s. As women were very strong in the novel and tried to use their voice and power for themselves.
